Requirements
Theme of Show is "SUMMER" (Interperate as you will)
Any size 2009 painting (painted for this competition preferred), created en plein air (outside, not in the studio) and any subject (no nudes).

Composition
Edges
Draftsmanship - Drawing
Color/Value
The idea: Does your painting communicate your vision, the idea that made you want to paint the subject.
Judges
Any member who has won a 1st, 2nd, or 3rd Place SOCALPAPA Award in the last 2 Shows (Judges are not eligable to enter the competition)
12 Finalists will be announced July 29th and put on display at our Aug. 2nd summer beach party where the winners will be announced and awarded prizes.
Artist Choice Award will then be voted on by the attending members at the summer beach party and the winning painting will be featured as the banner image on the website (www.socalpapa.com)
All currrent SOCALPAPA Members (except eligible judges) may enter the ONLINE COMPETITION. The judging will be on a point system for all five criteries. Your total individual points awarded your entry will be available to you online, on this website. All entrants will be notified by email July 29th.
All you need to do is paint a "Summer Themed" plein air painting and submit it on this website!
