Who We Are: Celebrating Diversity

Loading Dock Gallery announces a juried call for art.

Who We Are: Celebrating Diversity

June 29th through July 31st

Artist Reception, Saturday, July 2, 2022 |  3-5 pm

The Loading Dock Gallery in Lowell, Massachusetts is excited to announce this first annual event: Celebrating Diversity: Lowell Has It.    This event is proudly hosted by Loading Dock Arts/Education, Inc. and will take place at Western Avenue Studios, Lowell MA.

This multi-cultural event will take place July 16th and 17th, 2022 and will feature an art show, live workshops, ethnic music, dance, and fashion.  Additionally we wish to present local film, spoken word, and creative artists.  We’ll welcome many cultural traditions characterized by the people of the Greater Lowell Area.

The Gallery show “Who We Are: Celebrating Diversity” is the month-long centerpiece of this event. This is a New England Regional show, however, the first look at artist entries will go to artists residing in the Greater Lowell Area.  This will enable them to have the first opportunity to participate in an Art Exhibition that will be presented in conjunction with the multi-cultural event.   This special display will take place for one month, from June 29th through July 31st. and its home will be the expansive Loading Dock Gallery at 122 Western Avenue, Lowell MA.

Additional consideration is being given to artists who identify as members of the BIPOC, LGBTQ+ and non-binary communities; populations who have been historically underrepresented in art galleries across New England.

*To assist in our goal of “celebrating the diversity of the arts” there are a limited number of scholarships available to residents of Lowell and the surrounding communities.  For more information about the scholarship please email loadingdockartsinc@gmail.com.
