QUALIFICATIONS

Current CAC Members in the following Chapters; San Francisco and Monterey Bay. Signature Sculpture Members are also welcome to apply.

SUBJECT MATTER

This exhibition will showcase the dreamy California lifestyle as we encourage you to explore enigmatic beauty of our Golden State.

Artwork could represent anything from the peaceful vistas, to the meditative California coastlines, to the whimsical architecture that’s iconic throughout the Golden State.

The Californian dream is derived from the diversity of its land and its people. With many reasons why people choose to come to this part of the world, we encourage you to reflect on what inspires you as a Californian Artist and depict your very own California dream.

MEDIUM & DIMENSIONS

Paintings in oil, watercolor, pastel or acrylic.

Note that Curated By the Sea Gallery is requesting unframed gallery wrapped canvas paintings. All other surfaces (panel, board, etc.) should be framed.

Frames are limited to 2.5” maximum.

Sculptures in permanent materials such as bronze, marble, terra cotta, fiberglass, or wood.

Please note that there is no size limitation. Sculptors will have to provide their own pedestal for display. Paintings done on gallery wrapped canvas are not required to be framed.

50% Artist; 30% Gallery; 20% CAC

HOW TO APPLY

Submit all artwork through OnlineJuriedShows.com for consideration to exhibit in California Dreaming. There is no limit on how many works an artist can submit. Submission fees are non-refundable.

ENTRY FEE

Please pay by credit card through OnlineJuriedShows.com.

For $30, you may submit 1 image. Additional images are $5 each.

NOTIFICATIONS

Guest Judges are Melissa Kreisa, Curated by the Sea owner; Ellen Howard, Signature Artist and Co-Vice President of the California Art Club; and Brian Blood, California Art Club Signature Artist.

Notifications will be sent to artists via their OnlineJuriedShows account on or around Monday, December 12, 2022.

ARTWORK DROP-OFF /PICK-UP

Please note that the address to drop-off and ship artwork is different.

Artwork Drop-off is Saturday, January 14, 2023; between 4 – 6 p.m. or Sunday, January 15; between 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. at Curated by the Sea, 703 Front Street, Santa Cruz, CA 95060.

If you require shipping, all shipped artwork must be delivered no later than January 15, 2023. Please ship to the following address;

Pick-up is Saturday, March 11; between 4 – 6 p.m. or Sunday, March 12; between 10 a.m. – 12 p.m.

PREPARING PAINTINGS

Please label the back of paintings with your name, phone number, and email, title of the artwork, medium, dimensions and price.

Please note that artwork needs to be ready to hang on wall upon arrival.

Sculptors will need to supply their own pedestal.

SHIPPING and SALES

If a work sells, the collector will assume shipping costs, if applicable. The CAC and/or Curated By The Sea will process all sales, and handing tax or any applicable fees.

RECEPTION

Reception will take place on Friday, February 3, 2023 and Friday, March 3, 2023 at Curated By The Sea.
