QUALIFICATIONS

Open to all current members of the California Art Club

SUBJECT MATTER

The figure has fascinated artists for centuries. This exhibition will showcase the human form and the varying ways in which artists have depicted them, be it a social commentary, for training purposes, or even personal history and identity.

We request that works submitted use Contemporary - Traditional methods, and encourage submitted works that have been created in the last two years.

Artwork could include a portrait of an important individual, a gathering of people, self-portraits, studio studies, mythical figures, etc. Submissions can also highlight the relationship between human and animals.

Kindly submit your highest quality figurative work so we can explore a Figurative Exposé together.

MEDIUM & DIMENSIONS

Paintings in oil, watercolor, pastel or acrylic. Drawings in charcoal, color pencil or graphite.

2D works can be no bigger than 18” x 24”

Sculptures in permanent materials such as bronze, marble, terra cotta, fiberglass, resin or wood.

3D works can be no longer than 6ft in any direction, or over 50 lbs.

Please note that space is limited and a maximum of 42 paintings can be accepted.

60% Artist; 25% Gallery; 15% CAC

HOW TO APPLY

Submit all artwork through OnlineJuriedShows.com for consideration to exhibit in Figurative Exposé. There is no limit on how many works an artist can submit. Submission fees are non-refundable.

ENTRY FEE

Please pay by credit card through OnlineJuriedShows.com.

For $30, you may submit 1 image. Additional images are $5 each.

NOTIFICATIONS

CAC Signature Artist, Dan Schultz, will be the guest judge.

Notifications will be sent to artists via their OnlineJuriedShows account on or around Friday, December 16, 2023.

ARTWORK DROP-OFF /PICK-UP

Artwork Drop-off is February 3 – 4, 2023 between 11:30 – 4:30 p.m. at Pence Gallery, 212 D. Street, Davis, California 95616.

If you require shipping, all shipped artwork must be delivered no later than February 2, 2023 Please ship to the following address;

PREPARING PAINTINGS

Please label the back of paintings with your name, phone number, and email, title of the artwork, medium, dimensions and price.

Please note that artwork needs to be ready to hang on wall upon arrival.

SHIPPING and SALES

If a work sells, the collector will assume shipping costs, if applicable. The Pence Gallery will process all sales, and handing tax or any applicable fees.

RECEPTION

Reception will take place on Friday, February 10, 2023; between 6:00 – 9:00 p.m. at Pence Gallery.
