QUALIFICATIONS
|
Open to all current California Art Club members of the following chapters; Kern County, Malibu/Ventura, Los Angeles, San Diego, Orange County, Palm Springs Desert, San Gabriel/Pomona Valley, and the Inland Empire.
|

SUBJECT MATTER
|
It is at the very heart of human nature to gather together to celebrate our traditions, which may vary culture to culture, but our traditions bind us to our predecessors.
For this exhibition we ask artists to submit work that showcase either their personal cultural celebrations, or celebrations that they have had the opportunity to witness.
Works could feature celebrations from July 4th, to the Yi Peng Lantern Festival, to the Holi Festival of Color, to Dia de los Muertos, to Pride Festivals, to Oktoberfest, to Mardi Gras, to Moon Festival, to the Gathering of First Nations, etc.
Artwork could also explore the cultural influences behind clothing, architecture, landscaping, food, etc.
All genres of work will be considered. Get creative!

MEDIUM
|
Original paintings in oil, watercolor, pastel or acrylic. Drawings in charcoal, color pencil or graphite.
Please note that canvas, panel, and paper size can be no wider than 40 inches. Giclees or digital works will not be accepted.
Sculptures in permanent materials such as marble, resin, bronze, terra cotta, fiberglass or wood.
Please note that sculptures are limited to 100lbs. Pedestals are available in various sizes at the museum.

|
60% Artist; 20% BMCC; 20% CAC
All artwork MUST be for sale.

HOW TO APPLY
|
Submit all artwork through OnlineJuriedShows.com for consideration to exhibit in Cultural Celebrations. There is no limit on how many works an artist can submit. Submission fees are non-refundable.

|
Please pay by credit card through Online Juried Shows. The first image you submit is $35, and each additional image is $10.
All submission fees are non-refundable.

NOTIFICATIONS
|
The Guest Judge is Peter Adams, President Emeritus and Signature Artist of the California Art Club.
Notifications will be sent to artists via their OnlineJuriedShows profile on or about Friday, March 17, 2023.

ARTWORK DROP-OFF
|
April 26 – 29, 2023 between 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.at the Bonita Museum & Cultural Center, 4355 Bonita Rd, Bonita, California 91902

PREPARING PAINTINGS
|
All paintings must be wired for hanging. Please label the back of paintings with your name, title of the artwork, medium, dimensions, and price.
|

SHIPPING INFO
|
Shipped work must arrive no later than April 26,2023 and a prepaid return shipping label must be included.
