Fuller Craft Museum
2018 Biennial Members Exhibition

2018 Biennial Members Exhibition

Exhibition Details
The 2018 Biennial Members Exhibition celebrates the diversity of talents in the museum’s membership base. This biennial exhibition is an important opportunity for young, mid-career, and veteran artists to exhibit their work to the Fuller Craft community. Artists both inside and outside of Massachusetts have participated in the past, as they have showcased stunning works of ceramics, glassware, furniture, textiles, basketry, woodturning, jewelry, and other craft-based media. For this particular exhibition, the museum grants eligibility for works of painting and photography as well, with video and internet-based works of art the only media ineligible from consideration. In the past, the opening reception for this exhibition has been particularly successful at bringing together communities of artists that are vital to the Fuller Craft Museum mission.

Eligibility
Current members (at the time of artist submission) of Fuller Craft Museum are eligible to participate in the 2018 Biennial Members Exhibition. Artists who are not members, but are wishing to submit work, may sign up for a membership here to fulfill the pre-requisite: https://fullercraft.org/join-give/membership/ or by calling (508) 588-6000, ext. 100. Those individuals who are uncertain of their membership status should check to see if membership is active and in need of renewal. All contemporary craft-based media, painting, and photography are eligible for inclusion in this exhibition, with video and internet-based works of art the only media ineligible for consideration. Hanging works must be limited to 48” x 48” inches (including frame), may not exceed 30 lbs., and must be ready to hang with the appropriate ring, wire, etc.  Unframed canvases must have finished or painted sides. Sculptures/three-dimensional works are limited to 78” h x 40” w x 20” d inches, and must not exceed 100 lbs. Artwork must be available for duration of exhibition.

Fees
Assuming one meets the prerequisite of a Fuller Craft Museum membership, the fee is $20 for each entry, and an artist may submit up to three entries (one entry = one submitted work) for consideration in the 2018 Biennial Members Exhibition. A maximum of one work per artist will be selected. Artists in the exhibition have the opportunity to sell their work through the show, and if so, a price must be provided. Those who do not wish to sell their work must list NFS (“Not for Sale”) as the price. Any work sold in the exhibition will entail Fuller Craft Museum taking 25% of the sale price. Sales will be processed through the museum store. Works sold in the exhibition must stay on view until the conclusion of the exhibit, and works cannot be switched out for another object mid-exhibition. Furthermore, if the artist desires to adjust placement of his/her work during the exhibition, he/she must contact Michael McMillan, Associate Curator, (508) 588-6000, ext. 137 / mmcmillan@fullercraft.org.

Entry Fees are non-refundable and must be paid by the entry deadline.  Acceptance is not guaranteed.
