JUROR: ARIEL PLOTEK, Ph.D.
Curator of Modern and Contemporary Art, The San Diego Museum of Art
Dr. Plotek oversees Modern and Contemporary art at The San Diego Museum of Art. His main area of expertise is 19th- and 20th-century painting and sculpture. Dr. Plotek has collaborated with contemporary artists such as Ron Nagle and Richard Deacon; taught the History of Modern Art at the University of San Diego; and served as the editor of Tabula Quarterly—an online review of exhibitions and books on art. Prior to San Diego, Dr. Plotek worked at the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts and the Metropolitan Museum of Art. He specialized in Modern art at the University of London, and received his Ph.D. from NYU’s Institute of Fine Art, completing his dissertation in Paris under the aegis of the Sorbonne.

ELIGIBILITY
The competition is open to SDMAAG members as well as non-members worldwide.
All 2D media works are eligible. Unfortunately, the Poway Center for the Performing Arts cannot display freestanding sculptures. Wall-mounted sculptures weighing less than 60 lbs are acceptable.
All work has to be original and not previously exhibited in an Artists Guild exhibition. NO REPRODUCTIONS. No copies of other artists’ works will be accepted. NO EXCEPTIONS.

Thursday, June 21 - Reception for artists from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
Open to the public.
Friday, June 30 - END OF SHOW.
Pick up Artwork between 9 a.m. and 11 a.m.
If arrangements for pick up of work have not been made prior to June 30, the work will become the property of the Artists Guild after 30 days and may be disposed of at the Artist Guild’s discretion.
SHIPPING: Shipping and pre-show hand delivery Instructions will be provided to accepted artists in their acceptance confirmation email. Shipping costs are the responsibility of the artist.
ENTRY FEE
Entry fees are non-refundable.
Members: $25 application fee for the first entry, plus $5 for each additional image - maximum 8 images
Non-Members: $35 application fee for the first entry, plus $10 for each additional image - maximum 8 images
Entry fees must be paid by the entry deadline. Acceptance of artwork is not guaranteed.
APPLICATION PROCEDURES
Entering Your Images:
• You can enter your images online at www.OnlineJuriedShows.com
• Entry form must be filled out in its entirety. List framed sizes up to the nearest inch.
• Submitted images must not include matting or frame. Crop the photos to include only the artwork. Be sure your images are right-side-up.
• Before uploading your images, make sure they are smaller than 4MB, but at least 1920 pixels on the longest side at 72 dpi. Images should be in JPEG format.

• All artists will receive notification by email after initial jury process is complete. Please add Services@OnlineJuriedShows.com and Manager@OnlineJuriedShows.com to your safe senders list to ensure notifications are received.
SIZE AND WEIGHT LIMITATIONS
Two-dimensional art shall not exceed 48 inches in width and 72 inches in height, including the frame. Gallery-wrapped artwork will be accepted if edges are painted.
Artwork weight may not exceed 60 lbs.
OVERSIZED WORK WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.
CONDITIONS OF ACCEPTANCE & AGREEMENTS
The following statements constitute an agreement between the artist and The San Diego Museum of Art Artists Guild. Any requirements of the exhibit not fulfilled will result in disqualification. No exceptions will be made to these rules.
Artwork must be offered for sale. The Artists Guild will retain a 35% commission on all artwork sold at the Poway Center for the Performing Arts. All sales have to go through the Artists Guild – no private sales are permitted. NO EXCEPTIONS.
The Entry Form must be filled out completely. The information recorded on this Entry Form, including price, is considered final and may not be changed after the entry period is closed.
Work that does not match the image submitted, or which is unprofessionally presented, will not be installed.
Two-dimensional art must be professionally presented, framed, wired and ready to hang. Acetate coverings, brackets, quick-frames, or any type of device leaving exposed glass or Plexiglas will not be accepted. The Artists Guild will exclude any entry that presents unusual installation problems, or is improperly framed.
IMAGE USE / COPYRIGHTS:
Artist retains all copyrights to submitted images and represented artwork. Digital images submitted with artist entry are for exhibition selection and marketing purposes for the exhibition only. By entering the competition, all artists grant SDMAAG the right to use the selected image(s) on printed materials and the gallery web site for promotional purposes. SDMAAG retains no copyrights to artists work.
RELEASE OF LIABILITY
Each artist must carry his/her own insurance. Though care will be taken in handling all entries, SDMAAG will not be responsible for loss or damage of any kind for any entry submitted. Submitting art to this exhibit constitutes an agreement on the part of the artist to the conditions set forth in this prospectus. SDMAAG may rescind the right of hanging or displaying any art misrepresented or unsuitably presented.
