Exhibition Details

Crystal Cove’s Historic District in the summer is a hotspot attended by thousands of state park goers daily, especially by tourists in the high-end Pelican Hill Resort and Marriot Newport Coast Resorts. Visitors to the park regularly purchase artwork from the Interpretive Park Store and Art Gallery as a memento of their visit. Our twice-annual art shows take advantage of busy-season crowds to showcase the best work by lovers of this enchanting location.

July 27th: The Artist Reception runs from 5 to 7:30 PM Usually attended by over one hundred art lovers and collectors who are ready for an enjoyable time. Live music, food, beverages, and a gorgeous beachfront location get people in the mood to buy.

July 28th-29th: The public show runs from 10 AM to 4 PM (or later depending on interest), with crowds of thousands filtering through as they enjoy the sun and sea.

Historically 15-20 paintings sell during our Summer Show out of the fifty shown. Proceeds from show sales are split 50/50, with half going to the artist and the other half benefiting Crystal Cove Conservancy’s mission of education, conservation, and preservation of Crystal Cove State Park.

 

Eligibility

All traditional media (oil, acrylic, watercolor, pastel, etc.) will be accepted, with the subject matter being Crystal Cove State Park: the historic district, coast, or backcountry areas. The show is open to any artist nationwide. Artists not able to pick up work in person must arrange for their own return shipping costs if their work is not sold or remaindered for exhibition in the permanent gallery after the show weekend. All paintings must be titled, priced for sale, framed and ready to hang. Please keep artwork to a maximum size of 16x24 framed.

 

Entry Fees/Forms

There is a flat fee of $20 for up to 3 submissions. Artists selected for the show will be asked to fill out forms related to payment and insurance information.

 

Prizes

Prizes TBD, will be awarded to the top 3-5 candidates, and will be updated here when final details are available.

 

Important Dates

Entry Deadline: 7/1/18
Notifications of Acceptance: 7/6/18
Deadline for receipt of artwork: 7/23/18
Artist Reception: 7/27/18, 5PM-7PM

End of Show: 7/29/18

 

Entering Your Images:

Entry form must be filled out in its entirety, including title, unframed dimensions, framed dimensions, medium, and price.  List sizes up to the nearest half inch.  Submitted images must not include matting or frame.  Crop the photos to include only the artwork.  Be sure your images are right-side-up.

For best results, make sure your image is 1920 pixels @72 dpi on the longest side.  Images should be in JPEG format, sRGB color space.  Help in photographing your work and properly sizing your images can be found at: www.OnlineJuriedShows.com/help.aspx.  If you need help entering your images or are unable to, please email Help@OnlineJuriedShows.com or call 949-287-8645.
