QUALIFICATIONS

All current California Art Club Members.

SUBJECT MATTER

We are looking for paintings that depict the natural beauty of Central California, from the golden coast to the Sierra mountains and everywhere between. This spring, the Pacific Grove Museum of Natural History's exhibition themes will focus on the flora and fauna found throughout this region. Please submit works that best capture the vibrant and varied ecosystem of Central California. Subject matter can be as general as the scenic vistas of Big Sur and grandeur of the Sierra Nevada, to as specific as the cypress, eucalyptus, migrant monarchs or the visiting gray whales of Half-Moon Bay. Paintings done en plein air are encouraged and larger studio pieces are also welcome.

NOTE: Paintings must by 18" x 24" or smaller.

MEDIUM & DIMENSIONS

Paintings in oil, watercolor, pastel or acrylic

COMMISSION

60% Artist; 20% PGMNH; 20% CAC

HOW TO APPLY

Submit all artwork through Online Juried Shows for Magnificent Migrations: A Journey Through Central California. There is a limit of 5 entries.

ENTRY FEE

Please pay by credit card through Online Juried Shows. The first image you submit is $35, and each additional image is $10.

NOTIFICATIONS

Notifications will be sent to artists via email on or about Monday, December 3, 2018.

PREPARING PAINTINGS

All paintings must be wired for hanging. Please label the back of paintings with your name, title of the artwork, medium, dimensions and price.

SHIPPING INFORMATION

Out-of-town shipments MUST arrive between during January 9 -11, 2019.

Artists will be responsible for the cost of crating, handling, and shipping artwork to and from the exhibition. More shipping instructions will be provided with acceptance.
