Theme and Eligibility:
This is an open call opportunity for any artist working in soft pastel.
Work must be ready to hang, work not ready to hang may not be included in show.
• Artists are encouraged to attend the reception.
• Original pastel artwork only. All submissions must be for sale.
Awards:
Best of Show: $750, Second: $300, Third: $200, additional cash and merchandise prizes will be awarded.
Nonrefundable Jurying Fee:
Jurying fee is to be $30 for two images, $40 for three images; payable online @ www.onlinejuriedshows.com

LESLIE LILLIEN LEVY, PSA-MP
Leslie Lillien Levy is an award-winning painter who specializes in still life and portraiture. Her work has been accepted and exhibited in numerous international, national and regional juried and invitational shows. She holds professional artist membership in Academic Artists, Allied Artists of America, Catharine Lorillard Wolfe Art Club, Connecticut Pastel Society, and Pastel Society of America of which she is a Master Pastelist and sits on their Board of Governors. She has been published in Pastel Journal and The Artists Magazine, among others. Her work is in private and public collections.
Juror of Awards:
Doug Dawson, PSA-MP, HFH
Doug Dawson was born in Oak Park, Ill. He attended Macalester College in St. Paul, Minnesota and Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa. He taught science and art for the Denver Public schools for 6 years. He has taught art for Colorado Institute of Art, Colorado Christian University, and The Art Students League of Denver. He is a founding board member for The Art Students League of Denver, where he presently teaches a Plein Air class and a Studio Landscape class. He teaches 8 to 10 workshops around the country each year.
Doug Dawson has exhibited with and/or received numerous awards from a number of different art organizations, including but not limited to: The Pastel Society of America, American Watercolor Society, Knickerbocker Artists, The National Academy of Western Art, Southeastern Pastel Society, Pastel Society of West Coast, Audubon Artists, Kansas Pastel Society, Allied Artists, the Pastel Society of the Southwest, the Pastel Society of New Mexico, the Pastel Society of Oregon, the Pastel Society of Colorado, and the International Association of Pastel Societies.
To honor his achievements, he was given the title of Master Pastelist by the Pastel Society of America (NY, NY) in 1985 and awarded the title of Master Circle by the International Association of Pastel Societies in 2005 (California). ***Pastel Society of America in New York---2008 Hall of Fame
Submission Guidelines:
• A maximum of 3 pieces may be submitted for jurying.
• Follow www.onlinejuriedshows.com guidelines for sizing and submitting entries.

Entering Your Images:
Entry form must be filled out in its entirety, including unframed dimensions (or size), framed dimensions (if not known, estimate it) or weight, medium, and price, if requested. List sizes up to the nearest half inch. Submitted images must not include matting or frame. Crop the photos to include only the artwork. Be sure your images are right-side-up.
For best results, make sure your image is 1920 pixels @72 dpi on the longest side. Images should be in JPEG format, sRGB color space. Notification: Artists will be notified of jury results by email during the week of May 30, 2016. Prizewinners will be announced at the reception on Saturday, July 23, 2015, from 5 to 8 p.m.
Publicity: The Shirt Factory will publicize the show and reception regionally via email marketing, paid print advertising, press releases, website and social media promotion.
Commission: The Shirt Factory Gallery collects a 30% commission for artwork sales. Artists' checks will be mailed in August.
Liability: Each work is insured to a reasonable amount while turned over to the care of the Shirt Factory Gallery. Items will be handled with the utmost care; however, Shirt Factory Gallery will not be held liable for damage as a result of workmanship or design. Artists are responsible for shipping to and from the Gallery and for insuring work while in transit. Artists are also responsible for providing work that is sturdy and durable for necessary hanging purposes.
Photography:
Artist agrees to allow Shirt Factory Gallery to photograph works for promotional purposes.
Drop-off and Pick-up:
Accepted work can be hand delivered to the Shirt Factory Gallery Friday, July 1, Saturday, July 2, between 12 noon and 5 p.m.
Shipped works are due June 30, 2016 or sooner.
Unsold artwork must be picked up Saturday, August 13 between 4-6 p.m.
Shipped work will be returned after August 13, 2016.
Shipped entries must include return shipping paid for by the artist. All shipping is the responsibility of the artist.
All work must be ready to hang with wire attached to back of frame.
About the Exhibition:
Adirondack National Pastel Exhibition 2016 is the second annual pastel show and will be held at the Shirt Factory Gallery, established in February 2012 to primarily serve as a welcome center and showcase for works created by our resident artists; the Shirt Factory Gallery now offers several juried shows a year, bringing in artwork from across the country.
The gallery is located in a historic building, brought to new life, which now houses more than 60 artist studios, shops, galleries and services. Its clean, modern design features an open floor format with a small annex.
