The Printmaker’s Hand IV

Event Description
The Printmaker’s Hand is a juried show of fine, hand-pulled prints by contemporary printmakers, sponsored by Corvidae Press. Showcasing both traditional and new approaches to techniques such as etching, drypoint, monoprint, lithograph, collagraph and others, this show will be juried by Bob Kochs of Augen Gallery in Portland, OR, a premier venue for fine printmaking since the 1970’s.

The show will be held at Northwind Arts Center, 701 Water Street, Port Townsend Washington from July 5 - 29, 2018.
 
Corvidae Press is a non-profit printmaker’s cooperative that maintains a non-toxic print studio in partnership with Centrum, a regional arts organization. Corvidae Press supports print artists through membership and community education about printmaking.

Eligibility
Only hand-pulled prints will be accepted. Works may combine traditional printmaking techniques with digital or other media. Entries must be original, entirely the work of the artist, and executed in the past 3 years without the supervision of an instructor. Entries must not be copies, derivatives or based on other copyrighted or published prints. No giclee prints will be accepted.

Artist must be a resident of WA, OR, ID, MT, AK, HI, or CA

Fees
A non-refundable entry fee of $45 is required for up to a maximum of 3 entries.  Entry fees must be paid by the entry deadline.

Juror
Bob Kochs is founder and owner of Augen Gallery in Portland, OR. Established in 1979, the gallery’s inaugural season included exhibits of works by David Hockney, Frank Stella, Robert Motherwell and Jim Dine. Kochs also established Augen/Fountain Editions, a collaboration with Arlene Schnitzer to publish original prints by local Portland artists and is a founding member of Portland Art Dealers Association.

June 28 - Deadline to receive accepted work in Port Townsend

July 5 - Show opens at Northwind Arts Center

July 7 - Opening reception and awards 5:30 - 8:00 pm

July 8 - Talk by Juror Bob Kochs 1:00 pm at Northwind Arts Center

July 29 - Show closes 5:30 pm

Entering Your Images
•    Entry form must be filled out in its entirety.  List sizes up to the nearest inch.  Submitted images must not include matting or frame.  Crop the photos to include only the artwork.  Be sure your images are right-side-up.
•    Before uploading your images, make sure they are smaller than 4MB, but at least 1920 pixels on the longest side at 72 dpi.  Images should be in JPEG format, sRGB color space.  Help in photographing your work and properly sizing your images can be found at:  www.OnlineJuriedShows.com/help.aspx.  If you need help entering your images or are unable to, please write to us here:  https://onlinejuriedshows.com/Contact.aspx
•    Please add Services@OnlineJuriedShows.com and Manager@OnlineJuriedShows.com to your safe senders list to ensure notifications are received.

Conditions
Artist may not substitute another work for selected work, alter sales price, or withdraw a work after it has been accepted. Corvidae Press reserves the right to refuse any work that does not match the digital image or meet media, size or framing criteria.

Sales
Should your work sell, Northwind Arts Center will pay you 60% of retail price. All work must be priced and sold with frame included. Northwind will pay WA state sales tax.

Corvidae Press reserves the right to photograph entries for purposes of publicity, documentation and education.

Shipped works must be framed in plexiglass and included a prepaid return label if you wish to have it returned by mail. Hand delivered works may be framed with glass. Work will be returned in the shipping materials in which it was received.

Liability
Although utmost care will be taken during the receiving, installation, exhibition and return of work, neither Corvidae Press or Northwind Arts Center will assume responsibility for loss or damage incurred. Artists should carry their own insurance. Work should not be so fragile that shipping or public display is potentially harmful to the work or to the viewer.

Submission of work to The Printmaker’s Hand IV constitutes agreement to the liability policy stated above.

PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING

REGARDING JURY NOTIFICATIONS:  Notifications are sent through ConstantContact from Manager@OnlineJuriedShows.com.  To ensure receipt of this notification, please add Manager@OnlineJuriedShows.com to your contact list, or safe senders’ list.

On the day of notification, you can do the following, but you will also receive an email notification, sent from ConstantContact, that will state the same.

1.      Go to OnlineJuriedShows.com and log in using your email address and password.

2.      Right above where you just logged in, click "Your Artist Profile."  You are now in Your account!

3.      Click the show name and you will see your first image.  The jury results will be under the thumbnail view.

4.      As you will see, it will say either "This Image has been Accepted or Declined in to the show."  Under that sentence, you can click "Read Acceptance (or Declined) Letter."  The letter will then be displayed below.

5.      If you submitted more than one piece in the show, go to the next entered piece in the show by clicking the page number, displayed below the thumbnail image.

6.      While you are in your account on OnlineJuriedShows.com, click "Personal Info" and make sure your name, address, phone number, and email address are up-to-date.

 

NOTE:  Please be sure to read your letters in their entirety.  Most acceptance letters will ask you to RSVP or will have special instructions you must follow.
