116th New Haven Paint and Clay Club Open Juried Exhibition



THE 116TH ANNUAL JURIED ART EXHIBITION

of the NEW HAVEN PAINT & CLAY CLUB

 

Show Dates:  July 10– 30, 2017.

Opening Reception:  Sunday, July 16, 2017, 2—4 pm.  Awards will be presented at 3 pm.

Location Creative Arts Workshop, 80 Audubon Street, New Haven, CT 06510

Juror Richard Klein, Director of The Aldrich Museum of Contemporary Art, Ridgefield, CT.

Entry Rules:  Works must be original and executed by artists from the Northeast (Connecticut, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, New York) who can hand deliver their pieces upon acceptance.

Media includes oils, watercolors, drawings, mixed media, printmaking and sculpture not previously shown at a New Haven Paint & Clay Club exhibit.
•    NO photography, computer art, giclee prints, installation art or crafts.
•    Wall-hung work must not exceed 40 inches in width, including frame, and be securely wired for hanging and must not exceed 60 pounds in weight, and must be stable to be exhibited.
•    Watercolors, pastels and prints must be framed and under glass.
•    No brackets or wet work.
•    Sculptors must bring their own pedestals

Entry Fees:
Two-dimensional artists may enter up to three works (3 jpeg images). Sculptors may also submit up to three works (2 jpeg views allowed for each piece). Due to limited exhibition space, only one piece may be accepted.

** Active Members of NHP&CClub who have paid their dues: $20 first entry, additional entries $10 each.  (Dues paid after November 1, 2016 are $25.)  Non-Members $20 first entry, additional entries $15 each.

All entry fees are non-refundable and must be made by the entry deadline.  Acceptance is not guaranteed.

Entering Your Images on OnlineJuriedShows.com:
•    Entry form must be filled out in its entirety.  List sizes up to the nearest inch.  Submitted images must not include matting or frame.  Crop the photos to include only the artwork.  Be sure your images are right-side-up.
•    Before uploading your images, make sure they are smaller than 4MB, but at least 1920 pixels on the longest side at 72 dpi.  Images should be in JPEG format, sRGB color space.  Help in photographing your work and properly sizing your images can be found at:  www.OnlineJuriedShows.com/help.aspx.  If you need help entering your images or are unable to, please write to us here:  https://onlinejuriedshows.com/Contact.aspx.
•    Please add Services@OnlineJuriedShows.com and Manager@OnlineJuriedShows.com to your safe senders list to ensure notifications are received.

Submission Dates:  May 15—June 11, 2017.  Deadline is June 11, 11:59 p.m. PST, for online entries.

Notice of Acceptance: Accepted work online notification June 16 on the www.OnlineJuriedShows.com website.

Awards:  Prizes totaling more than $3600 to be awarded at the exhibition. Additional funds are available for purchases to the NHP&CClub’s Permanent Collection.

Commission: The NHP&CClub takes a 20% commission on sales made during the exhibit. When work is purchased for the Club’s Permanent Collection, the artist receives 80% of the catalog price. NFS is allowed but no POR in the catalog.

Accepted artwork delivery: All accepted work must be delivered to the Creative Arts Workshop on Thursday, July 6, 6—8 pm or Saturday, July 8, 9 am—12 noon.  No shipped entries. The juror has the right to refuse any work that  he/she feels was misrepresented in the jpeg submission.

End of Show Pickup: All work must be picked up from Creative Arts workshop on Sunday, July 30, 4—6 pm
or Monday, July 31, 6—8 pm.

Artists please note: Every precaution will be taken to protect entries, but the NHP&CClub and Creative Arts Workshop will not be responsible for loss or damage from any cause whatsoever. The NHP&CClub may use artists’ images for non-commercial show publicity. Acceptance into this exhibition implies agreement with these conditions.

**Active Membership: After an artist has his/her work admitted into TWO separate juried exhibitions, they become eligible and are invited to Active Membership in the Club.
