We are pleased to announce that the Artist Member Review Committee will conduct the annual review of applications for Artist and Out-of-State Artist Membership (painters and sculptors) in the California Art Club. All current and active Associate Artist Members of the Club are eligible to apply at this time.

The process is highly competitive and acceptance as an Artist, Out-of-State Artist, or Sculptor Member is very limited. Acceptance is a great honor that qualifies you to submit your artwork for significant exhibitions including the Annual Gold Medal Exhibition, CAC-sponsored museum exhibitions, and the California Art Club Gallery at The Old Mill.

The jury is looking for traditional fine artists who produce work of the highest standard. Applicants are considered as an asset to the Club, and should demonstrate a high degree of professionalism and a unique style. During the process, the jury considers the artwork quality and consistency, as well as the artists’ exhibition history and website.

Current, active Associate Artist Members of the California Art Club are eligible to apply for Artist, Out-of-State Artist, and Sculptor Membership at this time.

Three of your best, recent works of art. Sculptors should submit multiple views of each piece.

•    Entry form must be filled out in its entirety.  List sizes up to the nearest inch.  Submitted images must not include matting or frame.  Crop the photos to include only the artwork.  Be sure your images are right-side-up.
•    Before uploading your images, make sure they are smaller than 4MB, but at least 1920 pixels on the longest side at 72 dpi.  Images should be in JPEG format, sRGB color space.  Help in photographing your work and properly sizing your images can be found at:  If you need help entering your images or are unable to, please write to us here:

There is a tax-deductible flat rate entry fee of $50 for all three entries, payable through Online Juried Shows.

•    We strongly recommend that you have your artwork professionally photographed.

•    Notification will be sent by mail in late January, 2018. Please do not call the CAC to ask about application status.

•    When submitting your application, please make sure your Profile on Online Juried Shows is up to date, including the Bio/Resume/CV and Artist Statement sections.

•    Please be aware that your artist website may be reviewed by the jury.

•    If you are not current on dues, your application will not be considered. If you are uncertain of your membership status, please contact the California Art Club at 626.583.9009.

•    If you are not a member of the California Art Club and would like to apply for artist membership, please join as an Associate Artist member here.
•    Annual dues for Artist/Sculptor Members are $110 and Out-of-State Artist Member dues are $90; dues are to be paid upon acceptance.

REGARDING JURY NOTIFICATIONS:  Notifications are sent through ConstantContact from  To ensure receipt of this notification, please add to your contact list, or safe senders’ list.

On the day of notification, you can do the following, but you will also receive an email notification, sent from ConstantContact, that will state the same.
1.  Go to and log in using your email address and password.
2.  Right above where you just logged in, click "Your Artist Profile."  You are now in Your account!
3.  Click the show name and you will see your first image.  The jury results will be under the thumbnail view.
4.  As you will see, it will say either "This Image has been Accepted or Declined in to the show."  Under that sentence, you can click "Read Acceptance (or Declined) Letter."  The letter will then be displayed below.
5.  If you submitted more than one piece in the show, go to the next entered piece in the show by clicking the page number, displayed below the thumbnail image.
6.  While you are in your account on, click "Personal Info" and make sure your name, address, phone number, and email address are up-to-date.

NOTE:  Please be sure to read your letters in their entirety.  Most acceptance letters will ask you to RSVP or will have special instructions you must follow.
