This is a call to artists who are members of Oceanside Museum of Art Artist Alliance: You are invited to submit up to three (3) entries for consideration in this juried art exhibition presented by Oceanside Museum of Art (OMA) that will take place at the exclusive members-only University Club atop Symphony Towers in downtown San Diego. The sky-level University Club sits on the 34th floor of one of San Diego’s tallest buildings. With stunning views of the downtown skyline, in the heart of the business and cultural community, it has the perfect atmosphere for networking or relaxing. The University Club's Arts Committee was established in May 2010 to broaden the club's cultural offering by connecting Members to the art community with exclusive quarterly exhibitions.

Artists who are not a member of the OMA Artist Alliance but are interested in participating in this exhibition must submit their membership application for Oceanside Museum of Art with the Artist Alliance add-on before submitting artwork for consideration. Details on how to join can be found in this prospectus.

EXTERNAL DIMENSIONS (INCLUDING FRAME) OF THE ARTWORK MUST BE LISTED IN THE TITLE OF THE PIECE, HEIGHT x WIDTH – For example, the title of your submission might be: Mona Lisa 42.7x30.7 (that is the title of the artwork with the dimensions of the frame, with no inch” marks) If you are unsure of the actual dimensions of your submissions, please measure for the sake of accuracy.

SUMMARY
•    Fees: $10 for up to three (3) entries. No additional entries.  Entry fees are non-refundable and must be paid by the entry deadline.
•    Artwork details:
      o    Original two-dimensional wall hanging work, no larger than 55” tall x 50” wide INCLUDING FRAME.
      o    Artwork may not protrude from the wall more than 5”.
      o    Artwork may be in any media or style.
•    Eligibility: Must be current Oceanside Museum of Art member with the Artist Alliance add-on.
•    Location: University Club, 750 B Street, Suite 3400, San Diego 92101. Open 7:00am-9:00pm for University Club members and their guests. All others may visit by appointment only.
•    Submission: All submissions will be taken through onlinejuriedshows.com.
•    One (1) entry per artist may be selected by the juror.

GUIDELINES
•    You are encouraged to submit a variety of sizes! Due to the unique layout of the gallery there are many spaces for smaller artwork.
•    Artwork containing nudity will not be selected.
•    EXTERNAL DIMENSIONS OF THE ARTWORK (INCLUDING FRAME) MUST BE LISTED IN THE TITLE OF THE PIECE, HEIGHT x WIDTH – For example, the title of your submission might be: Mona Lisa 42.7x30.7 (that is the title of the artwork with the dimensions of the frame, with no inch” marks)
•    If you are unsure of the actual dimensions of your submissions, please measure for the sake of accuracy.
•    If artwork arrives at the gallery larger than submitted dimensions, it will be rejected and returned at artist’s expense.
•    D Rings must be installed on the back at precisely equal distances from the top. Please no wires.
•    Artwork requiring special or unusual lighting or methods of installation cannot be accommodated.
•    If the artwork is not framed, edges must be finished, gallery wrapped, or painted out.
•    Artwork must be delivered and picked up from Oceanside Museum of Art.

TIMELINE
•    Submissions open: September 27, 2017
•    Submissions close: November 14, 2017, 11:59pm Pacific Standard Time (PST)
•    Final acceptances announced: On or before December 4, 2017
•    Artwork drop-off at Oceanside Museum of Art: January 16-18, 2018, 11:00am–4:00pm
•    Exhibition on view: January 24 to April 27, 2018
•    Reception: January 24, 2017, 7:00–9:00pm
•    Artwork pick-up from Oceanside Museum of Art: Date to be announced in acceptance letter for this exhibition.

JUROR BIOGRAPHY
Maria Mingalone joins Oceanside Museum of Art from 14 years at the Berkshire Museum in Pittsfield, Massachusetts, where her most recent title was Director of curatorial Affairs. Prior positions included Interim Executive Director and Director of Interpretation. At Berkshire, Maria oversaw the museum’s exhibition, educational, and public programs. She was involved in strategic planning and headed many fundraising initiatives including corporate and business sponsorships. She also secured grants to support programming and collections, all while supervising full- and part-time staff. Her fiscal responsibilities included successfully managing a departmental budget of nearly $800,000 and overseeing management of 45,000+ objects in the museum’s collection.

She holds a Masters of Science degree in museum education and leadership from the Bank Street Graduate School of Education in New York, NY. Maria’s background includes not only expertise in curating and museum education, but also 25 years of progressive museum and nonprofit management expertise.

DETAILED GUIDELINES FOR ENTRY

1.    ENTRY DEADLINE: 11:59 PM Pacific Standard Time (PST), November 14, 2017.

2.    EXHIBITION:  Artworks will be chosen by Maria Mingalone, Director of Oceanside Museum of Art, to be exhibited January 24 to April 27, 2018 at University Club, 750 B Street, Suite 3400, San Diego 92101. This location is an exclusive business club, and artwork exhibited here will be seen by hundreds of San Diego’s finest art appreciators.

Selection of artworks for inclusion in the exhibition is entirely the decision of the Juror. The juror’s selections are final. Entrants contacting the juror in advance of selections will be disqualified.

3.    ELIGIBILITY: To submit artwork for consideration in this exhibition, you must be a current member of Oceanside Museum of Art with the Artist Alliance add-on. Artists who are not a member of the museum and Artist Alliance but are interested in participating in this exhibition must submit their membership application before submitting artwork through Online Juried Shows. 4.    ONLINE ENTRY PROCESS: Entries will be accepted exclusively through onlinejuriedshows.com. When entering for the first time, follow the instructions for opening an account and creating a password. Record your password for reuse in all future entries with onlinejuriedshows.com. Scroll down to locate the exhibition “Artist Alliance at University Club” and follow the directions for entry. When filling out your artwork information for this show, please be sure all information and spelling is correct. All information entered by the artist will be used “as is” throughout the entire exhibition. Entry form must be completely and accurately filled out providing all requested information regarding the artwork and the artist. No changes can be made after the entry deadline, 11:59 PM Pacific Standard Time (PST), November 14, 2017.

5.    ENTERING YOUR IMAGES:
       Entry form must be filled out in its entirety.  List sizes up to the nearest inch.  Submitted images must not include matting or frame.  Crop the photos to include only the artwork.  Be sure your images are right-side-up.

       Before uploading your images, make sure they are smaller than 4MB, but at least 1920 pixels on the longest side at 72 dpi.  Images should be in JPEG format, sRGB color space.  Help in photographing your work and properly sizing your images can be found at:  www.OnlineJuriedShows.com/help.aspx.  If you need help entering your images or are unable to, please write to us here:  https://onlinejuriedshows.com/Contact.aspx

      Important:  The quality of photography contributes greatly to the clarity, sharpness, color, lighting and understanding of your artwork and assists jurors in their decision-making process. If an artwork does not match the appearance of the electronic entry image, it may be rejected after delivery. Please submit your image(s) accordingly.

6.    USE OF IMAGES: By submitting images to the exhibition, the entrant warrants that he/she created each of the artwork(s) submitted for consideration in the exhibition and that he/she possesses all legal rights to them. The entrant agrees that all submitted images selected by our judge may be used for marketing and promotional purposes related to the exhibition. By providing the images and other information through this entry, the entrant gives permission for OMA and L Street Fine Art to use images of accepted artwork for promotion, reference, printed materials and online postings as well as in future advertising. All images used by OMA and L Street Fine Art shall have a credit line of the artist. Copyright and all other rights remain that of the artist.

7.    ENTRY FEE: At the end of the entry process, payment can be made using or a valid credit card or PayPal.  Entry fees are nonrefundable and must be paid by the entry deadline. Unlimited numbers of entries per Entrant are allowed. Entry Fees are $10 for up to three (3) entries. No additional entries may be made.

9.    NOTIFICATION OF ACCEPTANCE: Entrants whose work is accepted will receive an emailed notice from onlinejuriedshows.com through ConstantContact (see below and yellow highlighted section on your payment receipt) on or before December 4, 2017. Exhibiting artists will also receive a loan form. Detailed instructions will be given in the acceptance letter.

10.    CONDITIONS: Final acceptance of entries in the exhibition is up to the Juror’s and Gallery Director’s discretion after viewing the delivered artwork. If an artwork does not match the appearance of the electronic entry, if actual dimensions of artwork are larger than noted with the submission, if artwork requires special or unusual lighting or methods of installation that cannot be accommodated, or if the workmanship, framing, or edge finish is not suitable quality for gallery presentation, the artwork will be disqualified and returned at the artist’s expense.

         OMA will assume insurance responsibility for the object from the time the artwork is delivered to the museum.

         OMA and The University Club will exercise the usual care in handling and will provide coverage for the replacement value of the work or the fair costs of repair. They cannot be responsible for minor wear resulting from normal handling. Each artist in the exhibition will be required to sign a loan agreement with OMA for loan of the work. Signing of the loan agreement will signify that you allow OMA to act as your agent in agreeing to consignment terms and all other terms and conditions of the loan.

11.    ARTWORK DROP-OFF AT OCEANSIDE MUSEUM OF ART:
         January 16-18, 2018, 11:00am–4:00pm

         All work delivered must be ready to hang with D-rings installed on reverse at precisely equal distance from the top of artwork. Please no wires. If work that is not ready to hang is delivered it will not be included in the exhibition or be accepted at drop off.

         Artwork must be wrapped for transportation when it is dropped off at OMA. It will remain wrapped until it arrives at University Club.

12.    ARTWORK PICK UP: Artwork must remain with the exhibition through the conclusion of the show on April 27, 2018.  The date for artwork pick up from Oceanside Museum of Art will be announced in the acceptance letter for this exhibition.

13.    SALES: There will be no sales conducted through The University Club. If a visitor is interested in purchasing an artwork, they will inquire with front desk at The University Club, where they will receive contact information for OMA. OMA will connect the interested party with the artist. All sales will take place privately between the artist and the interested party. Donations to OMA post sale are welcome but not mandatory.

14.    ABOUT OMA ARTIST ALLIANCE: The Artist Alliance is an affiliate group of membership dedicated to the support of Oceanside Museum of Art. Artist Alliance provides opportunities for interaction, visibility, and growth for artists in the region.

        The mission of Oceanside Museum of Art is to educate and inspire the public through a diverse range of engaging exhibitions and programs that connect people with regional, as well as national and global, artists and art forms of the 20th and 21st centuries. OMA operates as a private, non-profit 501 (c) (3) corporation.
