JUDGE OF AWARDS:  AARON SCHUERR  www.aaronschuerr.com
In 1995 Schuerr received his fine art degree and returned to the U.S from Scotland where he had attended Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and had become familiar with plein air painting using pastel.  He married a Montana girl and followed her out West.  For the first year he had no studio, so he was forced to brave the often savage Montana weather in order to paint.  It was the best training an artist can have.

Aaron now lives in Livingston, Montana with his wife and three sons. Though he has had a studio for many years, he still advocates painting directly from nature.  He has taught workshops across the country and writes regularly for The Pastel Journal. In the past few years he has painted in remote villages in The Atlas Mountains of Morocco, participated in plein air festivals in Ireland, The Grand Canyon, and Grand Teton National Park, and explored his favorite sites in Montana and Yellowstone National Park.  He has four instructional videos with F+W Media.

LOCATION:
The exhibition will take place at the Sedona Arts Center, located in the heart of the historical business district adjacent to restaurants, gift shops, and other tourist attractions.  The dates of the show will coincide with the Spring Holiday weeks which are teeming with visitors and have traditionally increased the flow of traffic through the Art Center.   Aaron Schuerr will be giving a 3-day workshop during the first few days of the show and pastel demos will be scheduled.  To sign up for the workshop, contact www.sedonaartscenter.org.
