Entry fees are non-refundable and must be paid by the entry deadline.

For the first time ever, Filoli is opening its doors in the winter, unlocking the secret beauty of a garden at rest. During this time, Filoli will be unlocking doors with many behind-the-scenes opportunities for our guests.  In celebration, the Filoli Unlocked exhibition will feature all black and white photography of gates, keys and doors - hidden and historic architecture will be considered.  Images of Filoli are encouraged, but not required.  Historic architecture is preferred.
Selected images will be on display in the Visitor and Education Center with interpretation to connect the exhibition to the seasonal theme.

About Filoli:
Located in Woodside, CA, Filoli boasts a 654-acre property featuring a 54,000+ square foot Georgian revival style mansion turned living museum, 16 acres of exquisite English Renaissance gardens, a 6.8 acre Gentlemen’s Orchard, and a nature preserve with over 7 miles of hiking trails. Established as a private residence in 1917, Filoli was opened to the public in 1976 as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and site of the National Trust for Historic Preservation. Filoli is dedicated to the preservation, interpretation, and stewardship of the cultural traditions and natural history of this country estate for public education and enjoyment. Eligibility:
Photographers are invited to submit high quality black and white images of gates, keys, locks, doors or images that otherwise meet the theme. All work will be juried using digital images.  Curators and Jurors are not eligible for awards.

Selection:
In selection consideration will be given to quality as well as adherence to the theme. Based on judging scores and sizing approximately 20 pieces will be selected.

Submissions:
The entry process will be handled by OnlineJuriedShows.com. The website has many helpful features and will insure a smooth process for all parties. Entries may include up to five digital images, jpg format.  Complete entry forms by clicking the link on our website at www.filoli.org/exhibits or go directly to OnlineJuriedShows.com.

Entering Your Images:
•   Entry form must be filled out in its entirety.  List sizes up to the nearest inch.  Submitted images must not include matting or frame.  Crop the photos to include only the artwork.  Be sure your images are right-side-up.
•   Before uploading your images, make sure they are smaller than 4MB, but at least 1920 pixels on the longest side at 72 dpi.  Images should be in JPEG format, sRGB color space.  Help in photographing your work and properly sizing your images can be found at:  www.OnlineJuriedShows.com/help.aspx.  If you need help entering your images or are unable to, please write to us here:  https://onlinejuriedshows.com/Contact.aspx
•   Please add Services@OnlineJuriedShows.com and Manager@OnlineJuriedShows.com to your safe senders list to ensure notifications are received.

There is a $35 entry fee for up to five images. It is crucial that your images be of the highest quality as they may be used for producing the exhibition postcard, the Filoli website and other promotional materials. A return label must be included for return shipping. Entry fees are non-refundable and must be paid by the entry deadline.

Presentation:
Maximum Frame Size: 30” width x 36” height
Minimum Frame Size: 11” width x 14” height
Selected entries must be framed and ready to hang, no sawtooths or projecting eye screws, Plexiglass required on all artwork, white or off-white mat colors, simple black frames. Floating images are discouraged as they often ‘fall’ during shipment. Label the back of your artwork with your name, address, phone number, email, title of artwork, sales status and price.

Accepted entries that do not conform to the above presentation may be refused at the time of hanging.

Availability:
The artwork must be available throughout the entire exhibit.

Notification:
Artists will be notified via email on December 15, 2017
Artists whose work is accepted by the jurors will receive detailed instructions for shipping and hand delivery of artwork. The artist is responsible for all shipping and insurance costs. Artwork must be received by January 3 via carrier or January 5, 9:00–11:00 am on site.

Hanging Rights
:
In consideration of Filoli displaying artwork, the artist releases Filoli from any liability whatsoever resulting from or relating to any aspect of Filoli, its members, guests and/or volunteers handling, transporting, exhibiting, storing or selling the work of the artist. This includes wear and tear, gradual deterioration or vermin damage, earthquake/earth movement related damage or theft. Filoli does not insure entered work; Artist is responsible for insurance.

Sale of Works:
Filoli is pleased to extend the opportunity for participating artists to sell their exhibit piece(s) during the exhibition. All sales will be handled by Filoli and payment will be made to the artists, minus a 30% commission to Filoli, within 6 weeks after the exhibition. Artists may also list their artwork as NFS (not for sale). Detailed instructions will be sent upon acceptance.

REGARDING JURY NOTIFICATIONS:  Notifications are sent through ConstantContact from Manager@OnlineJuriedShows.com.  To ensure receipt of this notification, please add Manager@OnlineJuriedShows.com to your contact list, or safe senders’ list.

On the day of notification, you can do the following, but you will also receive an email notification, sent from ConstantContact, that will state the same.
1.  Go to OnlineJuriedShows.com and log in using your email address and password.
2.  Right above where you just logged in, click "Your Artist Profile."  You are now in Your account!
3.  Click the show name and you will see your first image.  The jury results will be under the thumbnail view.
4.  As you will see, it will say either "This Image has been Accepted or Declined in to the show."  Under that sentence, you can click "Read Acceptance (or Declined) Letter."  The letter will then be displayed below.
5.  If you submitted more than one piece in the show, go to the next entered piece in the show by clicking the page number, displayed below the thumbnail image.
6.  While you are in your account on OnlineJuriedShows.com, click "Personal Info" and make sure your name, address, phone number, and email address are up-to-date.

NOTE:  Please be sure to read your letters in their entirety.  Most acceptance letters will ask you to RSVP or will have special instructions you must follow.
