Eligibility
· Open to all artists over the age of 18
· At least 80% of the piece must be dry pastel. Composition of work may not be taken from published photos or other artist’s work. No use of optical projection, and no student work produced under supervision is eligible.
· Minimum framed size is 25 united inches. Maximum framed size is 80 united inches. (add height and width of two sides to get united inches – example: 11x14 = 25 united)
· NO OIL PASTELS. DRY PASTELS ONLY. WORK MUST BE FOR SALE
· Non members will not be eligible for Signature Status.
· Work must have been completed within the last two years.
· All accepted work will be shown in our Exhibition Catalog. Accepted images may be used in Pastels USA and Morro Bay Gallery advertising.
· WORK MUST NOT HAVE BEEN ACCEPTED INTO A PREVIOUS PASTELS USA OPEN INTERNATIONAL EXHIBITION.
· JURY FEES ARE NON-REFUNDABLE; OVER-PAYMENT OF ANY FEE WILL BE CONSIDERED A DONATION TO OUR SCHOLARSHIP FUND.
Fees
· PSWC Member: 3 for $40, each additional entry is $5. up to 5 for $50.
· Non-Member: 3 for $50, each additional entry is $10. up to 5 paintings
· Entry fees are not refundable and must be paid by entry deadline. Acceptance is not guaranteed.
· A maximum of 1 (one) painting per artist will be accepted into the exhibit.

Entering Your Images:
· You must enter your images online at www.OnlineJuriedShows.com
· Entries must be for sale with a price
· Entry form must be filled out in its entirety. This includes complete mailing address, state, including zip code, phone, and email address.
· List sizes of framed paintings and also size of just the image itself up to the nearest inch. Submitted images must NOT include mat or frame. Crop the photo to include only the artwork. Be sure your images are right-side-up.
· Before uploading your images, make sure they are smaller than 4MB, but at least 1920 pixels on the longest side at 72 dpi. Images should be in J-PEG format and sRGB color space. Exhibition Details
Pastels USA 2018 will be the 32nd ANNUAL INTERNATIONAL OPEN EXHIBITION presented by the Pastel Society of the West Coast. It will be held at the Galleries of the ART CENTER MORRO BAY, Morro Bay, CA. There will be more than $14,000 in awards including a Best of Show Award of $1,800. Your work will be displayed on the OJS website for 30 days and on the Pastel Society of the West Coast website – www.pswc.ws WE PROVIDE A COLOR CATALOG TO ALL ACCEPTED ARTISTS AND SOME WILL BE AVAILABLE TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC AT THE GALLERY. ALL ACCEPTED ARTISTS WILL HAVE THEIR PAINTING DISPLAYED IN THE CATALOG. The Pastel Society of the West Coast is the second largest pastel society in the United States.
Sales
A 40% commission will be taken on all sales and sales will be handled by Art Center Morro Bay
Awards
Awards are about 40% cash prizes, and the rest will be gift certificates. All awards are named on behalf of donors rather than numbered awards. Approximately 30 awards with be given.
Calendar
1. Open/Close dates for submitting your work online is: April 8 to July 1, 2018
2. After judging takes place, notifications sent out: On or before Monday, July 9, 2018
3. Shipping deadline to arrive at Agent is: Tuesday, August 7, 2018. Shipping instructions will be provided with the emailed acceptance letter. Ship early!
4. Drop off artwork: Hand Delivery to Art Center Morro Bay will be on Tuesday August 14, 2018 between 1:00 and 3:30 pm.
5. Closing Reception and Awards Ceremony: Sunday, September 16, from 2:00 – 4:00 pm at the Art Center Morro Bay Gallery.
6. AFTER CLOSE OF RECEPTION ALL PAINTINGS MUST BE PICKED UP AND REMOVED FROM GALLERY NO LATER THAN 5 PM.

All accepted work will be shown in our exhibition catalog. Accepted images may be used in Pastels USA advertising.
Insuring of artwork is the responsibility of the artist. PSWC suggests participants carry separate insurance. All reasonable care will be taken with paintings and frames, however, the Pastel Society of the West Coast and Art Center Morro Bay, CA, its officers and volunteers, will not be responsible for loss or damage to paintings or frames however caused.
