PROSPECTUS - Fine Arts in the Pines

“A Moment in El Dorado County”

Fine Arts in the Pines , a non-profit art school is proud to host our first annual live Plein Air Paintings of El Dorado County, event. The theme for this even is “A Moment in El Dorado County,.” Scenes depicting both nature and structure, including city scenes are acceptable, along with animal life. This is a three day event, however, painters are not required to attend all three days. Painters are welcome to paint from 8 AM to 8 PM on Friday the 18th and Saturday the 19th. Artist may begin painting no earlier than 8 AM and no later than 8 PM. Artist are free to paint any time between these hours. On Sunday, painting can again begin at 8 AM but entries must be brought to 492 Main street, Placerville, CA by12, noon, to be included in the judging and awards ceremony. A list of various wineries will be available for those wishing to produce vineyard scenes. 3. Canvases Stamped for the event: May 18th at 492 Main Street, 10am to 12pm;

· First Place : $250

· Second Place: $100

· Third Place: $50

Three Honorable Mentions : Paint and Pour for 2 certificates from Placerville Paint Nite Club

Eligible Art READ CAREFULLY

Original work painted at least 70% EN PLEIN AIR, with completion of only 30% in studio. Landscape, Still Life, Figure (no nudes) accepted if painted en plein air (no artificial light or originating from photos). Paintings to reflect theme: “A Moment in El Dorado County.” All two dimensional mediums accepted.

Maximum size canvas/paper 18 x 24” or square inch equivalent and no work priced under $250

Artists may submit one entry at $30 or up to two (2) entries for $40

Fine Arts School in the Pines nor any its representatives will be responsible for damage or loss or any injury stemming from this event. Entrants participate at there own risk and we suggest that participants study the locations and any potential hazards of city life or the rural El Dorado County area before participating in this event. from any cause. Insurance, if desired, is the responsibility of the artist.

All work submitted must be available for sale. All sales will be handled by Fine Arts in the Pines, with 20% commission to the Gallery; 80% to the artist. Checks will be issued soon after the close of show. 

Advertising:

There will be newspaper print ads. Onlinejuriedshows.com will include the exhibit selectees on their DailyBrushwork.com to help create sales. Our extensive network of art related organizations will provide the show with further email advertising approximating at least 3,000 targeted arts related emails., promoting the contest. Artists are encouraged to invite Patron guests to the Opening Reception where beverage and food will be served. Artists are encouraged to direct patrons to DailyBrushwork.com for online sales.
