Sistagraphy
The Silver Lens, 25 Years of Arts and Activism

25th Anniversary Exhibition

THE SILVER LENS

25 Years of Arts and Activism

Call for Entry

Hello Sistagraphers,

We are excited to invite you to participate in Sistagraphy’s 25th anniversary photography exhibition entitled: The Silver Lens: 25 Years of Arts and Activism. Thank you for being a part of this wonderful group throughout these years. Your participation in our many exhibits, coupled with your dedication and commitment to Sistagraphy has helped make us what we are today. The Exhibition Committee is looking forward to seeing your images, both from previous exhibitions and from your new work.

Silver is the traditional gift to recognize a 25th anniversary. For this exhibition, we want to focus not only on our contribution to the arts but also to activism. As reminded by our founder, Shelia Turner, “Sistagraphy was very involved in activism in Atlanta and other outlying areas.” Through imagery, past and current, our members continue to show their activism using photography as their chosen art form.

For this exhibition, we are asking members to pull out all the stops and show your true arts and activist talents. We want to leave a lasting impression to all that see this presentation.

Our anniversary exhibition will be held at the prestigious and newly renovated Auburn Avenue Research Library (AARL), July 15 through September 23, 2018. The AARL is located in the Auburn Avenue Historic District at 101 Auburn Avenue NE, Atlanta, GA 30303.. The opening reception will be held at AARL on July 15th from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Below are the deadlines and requirements for submitting work.

IMPORTANT CHANGE: We have had a lot of questions about participating in this exhibit following Shelia Turner's passing. In response to this interest, we thought it best to extend the submission deadline from Sunday, May 6, 2018 to Thursday, May 31, 2018[1]  .
