Santa Cruz Art League creates an environment where local as well as regional & national artists display their art. The many classes in art and performance provide a space for learning and enhancing the creative process. Established in 1919, Santa Cruz Art League is Santa Cruz County's longest standing Arts organization, and it is a 501(c)(3) non-profit.
Scope
"Do something, do something to that, and then do something to that." Jasper Johns. Mixed Media can allow for great versatility in the creation of a work of art. Common media combinations include oil paint, graphite, textiles, or sculpture. However, mixed media pieces can include almost anything. Look around and see what you have -- then, do something to it!
Eligibility
Open to United States residents. The Santa Cruz Art League reserves the right to decline or remove any work that does not conform to the agreement.
Payment
Entry fee paid at: www.OnlineJuriedShows.com is $45 Non-member / $35 SCAL Members for up to 3 entries/jpegs. Entry fees are non-refundable. New members are welcome to join by going to www.scal.org to sign up.
Rules of Entry
All work must be original and executed by the exhibiting artist within the last three years. Jurying will be by digital images with a maximum of 3 entries per artist. Work is to be installation-ready with necessary framing and mountings. No unprotected glass edges. Work requiring special handling is to be installed and removed by the artist. The specific work accepted for entry is to be available for the exhibit. No work may be substituted or exchanged for any reason.

Sales / Insurance / Shipping
All work must be for sale. Artists agree to donate 45% of any sale of work to SCAL or 30% of sale if SCAL Member. Artist will be paid three weeks from end of show. SCAL insures work only after installation. Maximum insured value $1000 regardless of price. Shipped entries must have return shipping prepaid and prearranged. Questions? www.fedex.com or www.ups.com. $20 handling fee per box for shipped work.
Awards & Publicity
The Juror will grant $1,000 in Awards. Artist bio and/or brief information on artwork with photo is encouraged for Gallery Bio Book, when accepted. SCAL shall have the right to photograph, telecast, and /or reproduce artwork in full or in detail for educational, catalog, or publicity purposes including SCAL website.
