Expressions 2019 is North Country Arts fourth annual regional juried art show which will be held at the Shirt Factory Gallery in Glens Falls, NY during the month of May 2019. Three significant monetary awards (Gold - $750, Silver- $500, Bronze- $250) will be presented at the opening reception on May 4th. The exhibitions will be advertised by both the Shirt Factory Gallery and North Country Arts both in print media and social media. This is an open call opportunity and includes sculpture, photography , painting, printmaking, digital art, pottery, etc.

Jonathan Canning, Director of Curatorial Affairs and Programming at The Hyde Collection Art Museum, Glens Falls, NY. is responsible for the care, presentation and growth of the Museum’s collection of European Old Master, American art and modern and contemporary art. Since coming to the Museum in 2016, Mr. Canning has overseen the installation of the Fiebes & Schmitt gallery dedicated to postwar ar t, and some 20 temporary exhibitions.
Before coming to The Hyde, Mr. Canning was the curator of the Martin D’Arcy, S.J. Collection of medieval, renaissance and baroque fine and decorative arts at Loyola University Museum of Art (LUMA) in Chicago. Mr, Canning has degrees in art history from the Courtauld Institute of Art, the University of Delaware, and Columbia University. At the latter, he developed a minor concentration in Daimyo culture of Muromachi Japan. A fellowship at the Philadelphia Museum of Art and participation in the Attingham Trust Summer School allowed him to broaden his purview to include European decorative arts.
Eligibility:
Art will be accepted from within a 150-mile radius from Glens Falls in any direction, but art must be delivered and picked up for there will be no shipping available.
1. Maximum frame or sculpture dimensions - 48 inches on the longest side
2. Original work only and must be for sale
3. Work must be ready to hang or display or will not be included
Fees and Categories
There will be a jurying fee of $25 for NCA members for two submissions and $35 for non-members for two submissions. For 3D --two images for each 3D submission.
Entering Your Images:
The entry form must be filled out in its entirety. List sizes to the nearest inch for frame size and image without the frame. Submitted images must not include matting or frame. Crop the photos to include only the artwork. Be sure your images are right side-up. Before uploading your images, make sure they are smaller than 4MB but at least 1920 pixels on the longest side at 72 dpi. Images should be in JPEG format, sRGB color space. Sales
All sales will be handled by the Shirt Factory Gallery who will take a commission on all sales of 35%.

Legal/Liability
Each work is insured to a reasonable amount while turned over to the care of the Shirt Factory Gallery. However, the Shirt Factory Gallery or North Country Arts will not be held liable for damage as a result of workmanship or design. Artists are responsible for delivering to and from the Gallery and for insuring work while in transit. Artists are also responsible for providing work that is sturdy and durable for necessary hanging purposes.
Artists also agree to allow North Country Arts to photograph works for promotional purposes.
