SMALL WORKS 2018

Sixth Annual Juried Exhibition of Small Works

Wednesday, February 13, to Saturday March 23, 2019.

Opening reception is Saturday, February 23, 2019 from 5 to 7 p.m.

Entry Deadline: Sunday, January 6, 2019

 

Theme and Eligibility:                              

Small Works. Maximum Image size: 12 inches on longest side

                     Maximum Frame Size: 16 inches on longest side

                     Sculpture: 12” on longest side

This is an open call opportunity; media may include sculpture, photography, painting, printmaking, pastel, digital art, clay, etc. Work must be ready to hang or display, works not ready to hang will not be included in show.

·Artists are encouraged to attend the reception.

·Original artwork only. All submissions must be for sale.

 

Awards:

Best of Show: $750, Second: $350, Third: $200, additional prizes will be awarded.

 

Jurying:

The juror for selection and awards is David Francis, PSA MP

 

Submission Guidelines:

All entries will be through www.onlinejuriedshows.com For best results, make sure your image is 1920 pixels on longest side, at 72 dpi resolution

 

Sculpture Entries: Due to insurance concerns, only sculpture that can be hand delivered will be eligible.

A maximum of 3 pieces may be submitted for jurying.

 

Nonrefundable Jurying Fee:

Jurying fee is to be $30 for two submissions, $40 for three submissions, payable online @ onlinejuriedshows.com

 

Entry Deadline: January 6, 2019

 

Notification: Artists will be notified of jury results by email during the week of January 7, 2019. Prizewinners will be announced at the reception on Saturday, February 23, 2019, from 5 to 8 p.m.

 

 

Drop-off and Pick-up:

 

Accepted entries must be delivered to the Shirt Factory Gallery, failure to do so will result in a one year prohibition from entering a Shirt Factory Gallery Event.

 

Accepted work:
Hand delivered to the Shirt Factory Gallery, Friday February 8 or Saturday, February 9, between 12 noon and 5 p.m.

Shipped works are due February 4, 2019 or sooner.

Unsold artwork must be picked up Friday, March 22 through Saturday, March 23, between 12 noon and 5 p.m.

 

Shipped work will be returned after March 25, 2019.

 

Shipped entries must include return shipping paid for by the artist. All shipping is the responsibility of the artist.

 

 All work must be ready to hang with wire attached to back of frame.

 

Publicity: The Shirt Factory will publicize the show and reception regionally via email marketing, paid print advertising, press releases, website and social media promotion.

 

Commission: The Shirt Factory Gallery collects a 35% commission for artwork sales. Artists' checks will be mailed in April.

 

Liability:

Each work is insured to a reasonable amount while turned over to the care of the Shirt Factory Gallery. Items will be handled with the utmost care; however, Shirt Factory Gallery will not be held liable for damage as a result of workmanship or design. Artists are responsible for shipping to and from the Gallery and for insuring work while in transit. Artists are also responsible for providing work that is sturdy and durable for necessary hanging purposes.

 

Photography:

Artist agrees to allow Shirt Factory Gallery to photograph works for promotional purposes.

 

About the Exhibition:

Small Works 2019 is our seventh edition of this rapidly growing show and will be held at the Shirt Factory Gallery, established in February 2012 to primarily serve as a welcome center and showcase for works created by our resident artists; the Shirt Factory Gallery now offers three juried shows a year, bringing in artwork and introducing new artists from across the country.

The gallery is located in a historic manufacturing building, brought to new life, which now houses more than 60 artist studios, shops, galleries and services. Its clean, modern design features an open floor format with a small annex.
