Multiplicities: New Directions in Fiber

Work created using or referencing any fiber techniques and vocabularies, in any material is eligible. Techniques considered are traditional as well as innovative, including weaving, !wining, plating, beading, stitching, felting, dyeing, mitting, crocheting, quilting, spinning, embroidery, surface design, and 3-D mixed media. Materials considered include cloth, thread, paper, metal, glass, wood, clay, plastic, as well as any other material.

Help in photographing your work and properly sizing your images can be found on the help page.
For best results, make sure your image is 1920 pixels@72dpi on the longest side. Images should be in JPEG format, sRGB color space. If you need help entering your images or are unable to please contact help@onlinejuriedshows.com or call 949-287-8645.

Eligibility:
• All work must have a shipping address in the continental USA.
• The artist must be 18 years of age or older.
• All work must be original.
• Work created under instruction or supervision is not eligible.
• Work must have been completed within the last 3 years.
• Work should not have been previously exhibited at IMAGO gallery.
• All work must be received ready to install. If work requires specific hanging device or armature, these must be included with clear installation instructions.
• Work must fit through an average doorway and weigh no more than 20lbs.
• IFA Board and Directors are not eligible.
• If the gallery determines that the work received does not represent the images submitted, the gallery has the right not to display the work.

Fees
Entry fee is $35 for up to 3 works.

Juror
The fiber artist Elin Noble lives in New Bedford, Massachusetts. She has spent more than 30 years investigating the nuances of applying dyes to cloth. Her work explores an experimental approach to the traditional shibori dye process. She is especially known for her whole cloth quilts, which have been exhibited nationally and internationally. Noble's most recent solo exhibitions have been at the Schweinfurth Art Center in Auburn, New York, The Textile Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and the Visions Art Museum in San Diego, California. In the fall of 2014 she will feature her installation "Vox Stellarum" at the La Conner Quilt and Textile Museum in La Conner, Washington.

Exhibition Details
This is IMAGO's ninth annual juried exhibit. Imago Foundation for the Arts is a non-profit organization serving artists and the community through visual art programs, literary events and other arts-related initiatives. The organization's goal is to make the arts a visible and active part of our communities.

Sales
• IFA retains a 40% commission on all sales. The gallery handles all sales with the commissions on sales used to support future art programming.

Awards
Cash awards will be presented and are determined at the Juror's discretion.

Calendar

  1. Open date immediately.
  2. Close date for submissions is midnight August 31, 2014.
  3. Notifications sent out by September 30.
  4. Delivery of work accepted to exhibit. Two options, hand deliver or ship.
  5. Bristoll Warren Art Night, October 30,2014.
  6. Artist Reception October 24, 6-8pm.
  7. In person pickup of artwork November 8 from 4-8pm.
  8. Shipped work will be returned the week of November 10.

  9. Hand Delivery of work
    -All work that is hand delivered directly to the gallery must be dropped off on:
    Friday, October 10 or Saturday, October 11 from noon-8pm.

    Shipped artwork:
    -Any framed work must use Plexiglas, no glass.
    -Your work must be shipped by UPS or US-postal service. ***Fedex will not be accepted.
    -All work must arrive on or before Friday, October 10, 2014.
    -The artist must provide a pre-paid return-shipping label so that unsold work can be returned at the end of the exhibit.
    -No popcorn packaging please!

    Because the gallery is not open everyday of the week, we are asking artists to ship their work to Board Member and Co-President, Mary Dondero's studio where it can be received and hand carried to the gallery.
