2019 Juried Fine Art & Sculpture Exhibit & Juried Photography Exhibit

The 43nd Annual Festival of the Arts, sponsored by the North River Arts Society, is a three-day celebration of the arts held in historic Marsh!eld Hills Village, Massachusetts during the Memorial Day weekend, May 24-26, 2019. Old Main Street is closed to tra"c and becomes an indoor and outdoor gallery of sight and sound. Last year’s Festival included the work of over 300 artists, craftsmen, and performers and attracted over 6,000 visitors. Featured events include the Juried Fine Art & Sculpture Exhibit in GAR Hall, the Juried Photography Exhibit in the Firehouse Building, Festival Art Sale, Artisan’s Sale, Children’s Art Activities, and a full Entertainment Schedule. The Gala Preview Party opens on Friday evening, May 24th and features the Awards Presentation. The Fine Art& Sculpture and Photography Exhibits remain open to the public through June 2nd.

ENTRY DEADLINE: April 8, 2019.
ENTRY IS ONLINE AND DIGITAL ONLY.
Digital image of work(s), entry form, and payment of entry fee must be submitted to onlinejuriedshows.com on or before April 8, 2019.

JURIED FINE ART & SCULPTURE EXHIBIT AWARDS:
Best of Show $500, First Place in each category (6) $150, Awards of Distinction (13) $100

ELIGIBILITY
Oil/Acrylic, Watercolor, Pastel, Mixed Media, Printmaking/Drawing, and Sculpture are eligible for entry. Sculptors must submit 2 views (except for wall hangings). All sculpture must be light enough for one person to handle. Ceiling hung work or installation is not eligible. There are no small display cases for very small work. Sculptors living within 50 miles of North River Arts Society must supply their own pedestal.

JURIED PHOTOGRAPHY EXHIBIT AWARDS:
Best of Show $500, First Place in each category (4) $150, Awards of Distinction (2) $100

ELIGIBILITY
Color, Black & White, Portrait and Creative Digital Manipulation are eligible for entry.

Additional eligibility requirements Fine Art & Sculpture and Photography exhibits:

  • Submitting artist must author work. Artwork must be originally drawn and the artist's original work from conception through execution. The artwork must not be a copy or likeness of another's work, or derived from a published painting, drawing, photograph, digital image, or print.
  • Submission of artwork done during the course of a workshop or class is not permitted.
  • Artwork including frame, must not exceed 44" in width or height.
  • 2D work must be framed and wired securely for hanging (clip on frames unacceptable).
  • Gallery wraps without frames wired for hanging will be accepted.
  • Artwork displayed previously in any NRAS exhibit is not permitted.
  • Entrants must be over age 16.
  • Any number of works may be entered in any category

Submitting your images
Online entry from must be filled out in its entirety.  List sizes up to the nearest inch.
Submitted images must not include matting or frame.
Crop the photos to include only the artwork.  Be sure your images are right-side-up.
Help in photographing and properly sizing your work can be found the image help page and the helpful videos page.

ENTRY FEE:

Online fees may be paid with a credit card or PayPal. The entry fee is $20 for

the first image and $10 for each additional image. Entry fees are non-refundable and must be paid by the entry deadline. Acceptance is not guaranteed.

 

NOTIFICATION:

All artists will receive a notification by email after judging is complete.

If accepted, the email will include a label to be downloaded, signed, and attached to accepted work before delivery.

 

All artwork accepted into the show will be on exhibit to the public in our galleries and may be used for publicity.

 

*North River Arts Society requires that all accepted artists sign a disclaimer and attach it to their work along with the other forms as required. Your signature indicates

compliance with the eligibility requirements stipulated. This ensures that all work juried into the Festival of the Arts Juried Art & Sculpture and Photography exhibits conform to these standards. No entry will be shown without a completed disclaimer attached to the work. The Festival Committee reserves the right to remove any work that does not comply with these requirements.

 

ARTWORK:

The work received at the exhibition must be the same as the image submitted

and described on the entry form or it will be declined. North River Arts Society is not responsible for loss or damage during transit or at the exhibition: artists should carry their own insurance.

 

SALES:

All Members will be charged 30% commission on all artwork sold. NON-MEMBERS WILL be charged a 45% commission. Payments to artist will be within 30 days of exhibition closing.

 

HAND DELIVERY & SHIPPING: Information will be provided to artists upon acceptance.
