A Small Image Art Show

Exhibition - A juried Fine Art Exhibit honoring all varieties of felines and canines, domestic and wild. This show is a small image format. All art must be no larger than 14 inches by 14 inches, including the frame or stand. A portion of sales and profits from the show will benefit the San Diego Humane Society. There will also be merchandise available to benefit the Feral Cat Coalition.

 

Awards – Cash awards to Best of Show, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd, plus additional merit awards, in 2 categories, Fine Art and Photography.

 

Eligibility – Open to all artists residing in San Diego County, and to all 2D and 3D original artwork and photography. No giclee prints. Work must be original to the artist, not derived from copyrighted or published material.

 

Sales – All work must be for sale and must remain hanging until the close of the show on October 13. Artist will receive 60% of sale, with a 20% commission to Veltz Fine Art, and a portion of the sales will benefit the San Diego Humane Society and Feral Cat Coalition.

 

Juror – Our juror, Julie Weaverling serves as Director of Front Porch Gallery in Carlsbad where she directs all aspects of the gallery, including curating shows, working with local, regional and national artists, innovative partnerships, community outreach and overall development and programs for residents of Front Porch Retirement Communities. Julie also regularly acts as juror for outside organizations. A successful professional artist, Julie creates contemporary abstract paintings, which are exhibited nationally.

 

Specifications – 2D work must be framed or have all sides of piece finished, and have wire attached to back for hanging. No saw tooth hangers. This show is a small image format. All art must be no larger than 14 inches by 14 inches, including the frame or stand.

 

3D work may include glass, pottery, wire, beading, paper, or sculpture. Freestanding works cannot exceed 14 x 14 x 14 inches. Work requiring a pedestal must be no more than 14” wide at the base. No work requiring electricity.

 

Gallery Hours – Veltz Fine Art is in a high-traffic tourist area and is open every day from 11 AM to 4 PM.

 

Each accepted artist must either sit the gallery for a 3-hour shift during the show or pay a $25 sitting fee.

Submission of Entry – All entries will be submitted electronically at www.OnlineJuriedShows.com

 

Entry form must be filled out in its entirety. List sizes to the nearest inch. Submitted images must not include mat and frame. Before uploading your images make sure they are right side up, smaller than 4MB, but at least 1920 pixels on the longest side, and 72dpi. Images should be in JPG. format, RGB color space. Help in photographing your work and properly sizing your images can be found on the Image Help page.

Fees – Entry fee is $20 for the first entry and $10 for each additional entry. Entry fees are nonrefundable. They must be paid by the entry deadline. After you have submitted, continue to check out. Miscellaneous – Although the utmost care will be taken in handling artwork, Veltz Fine Art and the organizers of the Reigning Cats and Dogs Art Show cannot be responsible for damage or loss, whatever the cause. Artists should carry their own insurance.

 

Please place the following information on the back of your work: your name, title, medium, size and price.
