NSA 34th Annual Juried Show 2019 Prospectus
Exhibition Details
Through the generosity of Mitchell Historic Properties NSA has secured the historic Hutchings Sealy, 2328 Strand, Galveston. The shows will coincide with Galveston's Art Walk, Saturday, October 12. Participants are encouraged to hang their art thru Galveston's Art Walk for the duration of the show.
Eligibility
The 34th Annual Juried Show 2019 is open to artists in both 2D and 3D from the US and worldwide. No jewelry accepted. Work submitted must all be artist’s original work and produced within the last two years.
Works must be: Paintings must be appropriately framed to museum standards and be secure in the frame and wired for hanging. All work must be able to be carried and/or hung easily by two people and not to exceed 18 sq ft. Framed works larger than 24 inches in any direction must use Plexiglas or acrylic. Canvases deeper than 1 ¼” must have finished edges if not framed.
3-D, free standing (e.g. sculpture, art dolls, assemblage, pottery, porcelain, glass, wood, metal) works must weigh less than 45 lbs., and come with pedestal or case as required for display. Exception, bowls or pottery, dining size or smaller, need not come with separate display system unless desired by artist.
Fees
$35 for the first submission and $15 for each additional submission, NO limit on the number of submissions.

For best results, make sure your image is 1920 pixels @72 dpi on the longest side. Images should be in JPEG format, sRGB color space.

3. All shipped art must arrive between Tuesday, September 24 thru Wednesday, October 2, 2019. Art may be shipped to: NSA, c/o Brenda Donaloio, 2200 Market Street, Suite 735, Galveston, TX 77550
4. Art Drop Off: 8:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m., Thursday, October 10 at Hutchings Sealy Building, 2nd Floor, 2328 Strand, Galveston, TX
5. Awards and Reception: 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m., Friday, October 11, 2019; Hutchings Sealy Building, 2328 Strand, Galveston, TX
6. ArtWalk, Saturday, October 12 in the heart of Galveston’s historic district. ArtWalk takes place in art galleries and other public spaces from 4p-10p, depending on venue. Our show will be part of ArtWalk with one other NSA gallery in our location.
7. Pick up art and check out Sunday, 11a-2pm.
8. Shipped art will be returned via artist’s prepaid shipper Monday, October 14.

Although every reasonable care will be taken, if accepted as participant, the artist hereby agrees to save, indemnify and hold harmless and all such parties, officers, and employees from and against any and all claims of liability, judgments, or demands including those arising from injuries to or death of Persons and damage to Property (artwork and display Items), or other losses, damages or expense of any nature assigned directly or indirectly out of or related to participation in the show. This art work is original, created within the last two years, and is solely the work of individual artist and not previously accepted in an NSA National juried show. Artists must adhere to the above criteria and the published dates and times. Works that do not meet these criteria will not be hung, even if inadvertently accepted into the show. If unable to make a scheduled pick up time, artists must arrange for someone to get the work and inform the NSA in writing.
