Awards Judge: Leslie Wu
Leslie Wu has been painting in pastel and oil since 1983. She came to live in the Pacific Northwest in 2006 and moved to Vashon Island in 2011. Her work is shown on the east coast, Chicago and locally at Bainbridge Island Museum of Art, Patricia Rovzar Gallery in Seattle and at Vashon Center for the Arts. lesliewuart.com, vashoncenterforthearts.org 

This is an exhibition for current NPS members only.
Entry fee is $30 for up to 2 images. Entry fees are non-refundable and must be paid by the entry deadline. 

General: This is an open (limited-juried) show with contributions from NPS members. NPS members may submit up to 2 works with a guarantee of at least one painting earning a place in the show. We hope to hang all entries and reserve the right not to hang a piece due to space limitations. Vashon Center for the Arts reserves the right to reject artwork that crosses acceptable boundaries. 

Entering Images: 

Enter online at https://www.onlinejuriedshows.com/Default.aspx?OJSID=26035. Please add Services@onlinejuriedshows.com and Manager@onlinejuriedshows.com to your safe senders list to ensure that notifications are received. List both image and framed sizes to the nearest inch. Images should in jPEG format, smaller than 4MB, at least 1920 pixels on the longest side at 72 dpi. Tips and help in photographing, preparing and sizing your work can be found at www.OnlineJuriedShows.com. 

There is no size limitation for this show. We suggest only white or off white mats and non-reflective glass. All work must be framed and ready to hang. We recommend flat D rings and strong wire. Work should arrive in good condition, with no pastel dust on the mat or glass. 

Sales: All work must be For Sale. There is a 40% commission taken by the facility for this show. Artists get 60%. Sold work will continue to hang until the end of the show on November 29, 2019. Checks will be mailed within one month of the close of the show. 

Eligible work: 

Submit your very best work. Artist must be 18 years of age or older. All work must be original in concept and executed by the artist in the pastel medium within the last two years. Work exhibited in previous NPS exhibits is not eligible. No workshop/classroom work. Mixed media pieces must be 85% predominately pure pigment (soft) pastel. 

Works may be hand delivered to one of several point persons before October 26. Details will be in your acceptance letter. Shipped work must reach Vashon Island, WA by Friday, October 25. 

Liability & Contract: All reasonable care will be taken with paintings and submissions. NPS, its officers, volunteers, and Vashon Center for the Arts shall not be held responsible for the loss and damage to paintings, frames, or digital entries. NPS suggests that participants carry separate insurance.
The artist grants permission to reproduce work for publicity purposes, both in print and digital galleries. Copyright will be attributed to the artist. Entry into this exhibition constitutes agreement with all conditions set forth in this prospectus and Entry Form, and is your commitment to participate. Your entry form is a legal and binding contract to deliver artwork that has been juried into the show. If, after being juried in, an entrant chooses not to deliver artwork, he or she may not enter an NPS show for a period of two years. 

Deadline for entry: Friday, September 27, 2019
Deadline to be considered for postcard and gallery promotional materials: Sunday, September 15
Notification of accepted work and delivery instructions: Wednesday, October 2, 2019.
Opening reception: Friday, November 1, from 6pm to 9pm, with awards announcement at 7pm.
Shipping delivery deadline: Friday, October 25. Details will be included with your acceptance letter.
Hand delivery deadline: Saturday, October 26. Delivery and pick up schedule will be issued with your acceptance letter. Show Ends: Friday, November 29, 2019
