Entering Your Images

For best results, make sure your image is 1920 pixels @72 dpi on the longest side. Images should be in JPEG format, sRGB color space.

Eligibility
Open to all artists in California that can hand deliver and retrieve their work (should it not sell) or have a friend do so. Artists may submit work in watercolor, acrylic, oil, and pastel. No photography, video or 3D work will be considered. Work must be framed OR gallery wrapped with finished edges that are at least 1.5” deep and wired for hanging. Please no saw tooth hangers. Dimensions may not exceed 24” in height by 36” in length, not including frame. Paintings larger than 24” x 36” must receive special approval. Entries must be plein air paintings, executed on location, out of doors OR inspired by plein air. The theme A Toast to the Coast is in appreciation for our host venue, Wargin Wines. It is open to the artist’s interpretation. Artists must be able to hand deliver and pick up their work if it does not sell. No shipped work will be accepted.

Juror
The Award Juror is Renowned Artist and painting instructor, Diane Edwards: http://www.dianeedwardsart.com/index.html
Award-winning artist, Diane Edwards, paints in oils, watercolor, and pastels. She is a Master Signature member of the Pastel Society of Colorado and has a B.S. and M.A. in Art and Education. Diane was an Adjunct Professor of Art at Aims Community College in Loveland, CO and also teaches advanced students in oil, watercolor, and pastel painting in her home studio. Diane has also been at the helm of many art related businesses over the years including serving as Managing Director of the Art on Mountain Gallery in Fort Collins, Co. Diane is an author and has written many books. Her latest is “Painting Landscapes of Colorado and the West”.
Exhibition Details
The Toast to the Coast Exhibition & Sale will be hosted by Wargin Wines at their Watsonville tasting room at 11 Hangar Way in Watsonville, CA. and will feature paintings by The Central Coast Plein Air Painters of the amazing beauty of California’s Central Coast. Selected artwork will be on display through October 6th, 2019. 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place awards will be given as well as 8 honorable mentions. Artists will receive 75% of all sales of their work. The exhibition and sale will be promoted via social media and PR. Artists are welcome to invite as many fans of their work as they like. Wargin Wines will be offering wine tasting of their delicious wine and light refreshments for all guests of age.
Sales
All sales will be processed through Wargin Wines. 75% of the sale price of the artwork goes to the artist, 10% to Wargin Wines and 15% to the Central Coast Plein Air Painters to help cover costs of producing the show.

4. Gala reception and awards: September 6th 2019 from 4:00 to 6:00 pm
5. Second Artist Reception First Friday, October 4th from 4:00 to 6:00 pm
6. Painting pick up the week of October 7th, exact time TBD .
