MATERIAL MASTERY EXHIBITION AND KACA MEMBERS SHOW
KACA was founded in 1966 as a resource group for communication, support, workshops, exhibitions, and networking for Kansas and regional artists working in 3-dimensional media. Since its inception, KACA has been a showcase for the latest in contemporary work in clay, fiber, metal, wood, enamel, jewelry, glass and mixed media.
Our membership includes college and university art instructors; K through 12 art teachers; studio artists; students enrolled in art programs; and lovers of craft from across the country. If you are a practitioner or supporter of a craft medium and want to expand your learning, attend workshops with nationally known artists, network with other artists, and have the opportunity to show or view work in respected galleries and museums in the state of Kansas, KACA is for you!
KACA benefits of membership include the opportunities to participate in the annual juried member exhibition and includes registration to the annual Conference. OVERVIEW & ELIGIBILITY
Material Mastery is a national show open to any artist in any media. KACA members who have paid their membership for 2019 and have entered the Material Mastery Exhibition will automatically have one piece selected for the KACA Members Show. The Juror will select the works for the Material Mastery Exhibition with special designation for the pieces to be curated into the Member’s Show. Please ensure that artwork will be available if selected for the exhibition when submitting materials.
ENTERING YOUR IMAGES
You can enter your images online at www.OnlineJuriedShows.com Help in photographing your work and properly sizing your images can be found at: www.OnlineJuriedShows.com/help.aspx For best results, make sure your image is 1920 pixels @72 dpi on the longest side. Images should be in JPEG format, sRGB color space. If you need help entering your images or are unable to, please contact info@onlinejuriedshows.com or call 949-287-8645.
ACCEPTED MEDIA & SPECIFICATIONS
All media are acceptable and entries must be original artwork completed within the last four years and not displayed in past KACA exhibitions. Work must fit through a standard doorway, not exceed 50 lbs., and be able to be easily installed in gallery space. KACA reserves the right to exclude entries that present complex exhibition requirements. Artists may arrange to install their works at designated times.
FEES
There is a $30 fee for regular entries and a $25 fee for student entries.
JUROR
Our juror this year is Jessica Belangee, artist and lecturer at University of Kansas and Ottawa University.
AWARDS
Materials Mastery: Cash awards will be given to first, second and third award winners.
Members Exhibition: A people’s choice competition will be held during the KACA reception.
SALES
KACA requests that all artwork accepted into the exhibition is available for purchase. KACA will collect a 30% commission on the sales of artwork. Sales will be processed through each venue’s offices.
DELIVERY AND RETURN OF ARTWORK
Artists are responsible for insuring their work while in transit, but not during the exhibition and for all shipping costs.
All packages should be labeled below the return address label with the name of the exhibition to which it has been selected: KACA Material Mastery, Members Exhibition.
All artwork should be shipped or hand delivered by October 14, 2019 to:

Return prepaid shipping label must be included and items packed in re-usable containers unless work is hand delivered and picked up. Hand-delivered work will be accepted October 1 - 14, 2019, Hours of Operation Mon. - Fri. 9:00a.m. to 4:30 p.m. After hours or weekends by appointment only. Artwork is not insured while in the exhibition, but every care will be taken to insure its safety.
Please read the packing instructions from the carrier, work not double boxed may be ineligible for insurance claims. Artwork must be easily accessed and placed back into the original box. If complicated, please send pictures of how the work was packed. Objects will be returned in the same container and manner as received.
PUBLICITY
All works entered into the competition can and may be used in the catalog, and for publicity purposes in the promotion of the conference, exhibition, and KACA. Photography is allowed in the gallery, submission of an entry grants permission to photograph your artwork.

Opening of Material Mastery Show – October 23rd
Reception for Material Mastery Show – November 15th at 6:00 p.m.
Material Mastery Closes – November 16th, Work can be taken home at the end of the conference.
