Juror and Curator: Joe Cibere

Joe Cibere is a signature member of the National Watercolor Society and his particular painting style demonstrates his love of nature and wilderness. His paintings integrate strong design and balance with a sense of illusion, and have appeared in "Watercolor Magazine" and in the International Artists book "The Watercolor Sky and Cloud Techniques of 23 International Artists". His work is also part of both corporate and private collections. He has been a guest demonstrator for several art organizations and conducts workshops in Camarillo, CA on watercolor technique throughout the year.

RULES OF ENTRY  - - - REQUIREMENTS - - - PLEASE READ COMPLETELY

 

EXHIBIT THEME

“Seeing Clearly - 2020” can be interpreted by the artist, but the Ebell requests no graphic war images and no “Hefner-esque” nudes.

 

ELIGIBILITY

  • Work must be your own original artwork, not done under an instructor’s supervision, and not exhibited in any previous WPW show. Work completed in last three years only. Only wall-hung pieces are accepted.
  • This exhibit is for WPW members only.

 

SPECIFICATIONS

  • Metal or neutral wood frames only. Neutral colored mats of professional quality and in good condition. 
  • Wiring must be in good condition and substantial enough for the weight of the artwork. Wiring must be wrapped with tape at ends. No saw-tooth hangers.  All artwork should be ready to hang on the wall for the exhibition. 
  • All drawings, watercolors, pastels, etc. must be covered with plexiglass. NO GLASS ACCEPTED.
  • Works on paper and fragile artwork must be mounted on a sturdy support.
  • Canvas edges should be painted if no frame. 
  • Delivered work must match the image juried. No substitutions of accepted works will be allowed. 
  • All accepted work must remain in the gallery for the duration of the exhibit. No substitutions accepted.
  • Prices quoted on the entry form may not be changed after acceptance.
  • ALL WORK MUST BE FOR SALE.
  • Attach a label to the back upper right corner of each piece and have a signed release form to give to the volunteer at take in. See page 4 of this Prospectus for labels. One label is required for each painting accepted.

 

SIZE RESTRICTIONS

  • Use Framed Size for OnlineJuriedShows
  • Size limit for artwork – 24”w x 30”h
  • Weight not to exceed 20 lb.

 

PLEASE NOTE: WPW does not accept shipped or mailed packages unless arrangements are made prior to shipping.

 

ACCEPTED WORK

  • Email notifications of acceptance will be sent by April 5, 2020.
  • No more than two works to be selected by any single artist.
  • WPW reserves the right to reproduce accepted artwork for publicity and documentation purposes. 
  • The artist retains all copyrights in the artwork.
  • The Ebell takes a 25% commission.

 

GALLERY SALES

  • All sales are final. 
  • Gallery will receive 25% commission on any and all sales during and as a result of this exhibit. 
  • Artist will receive 75% of sales price. 
  • Sales tax is added by the Gallery. 
  • All work must be for sale
  • Prices cannot be changed from those stated on the submission.  
  • Artist should expect payment within 30 days after the close of the exhibition.

LIABILITY

Artwork will be handled with reasonable care. Women Painters West and The Ebell Los Angeles and its representatives will not be responsible for loss, theft or damage of artworks while in the gallery’s possession or in transit. By entering this show, artists agree to all conditions in this prospectus.

 

ENTRY PROCEDURE

Artwork for consideration by juror must be entered in the OnlineJuriedShows.com website by midnight Sunday, March 22, 2020.

 

FEES

$45 for two entries and each additional entry $5 up to 6 total. All fees must be paid by the entry deadline and are non-refundable and payable through the OnlineJuriedShows.com website. Credit Card or PayPal are accepted.

 

DISCLAIMER

Entries not meeting the criteria listed above will be disqualified and the entry fee will not be refunded.

 

DIGITAL IMAGES OF EACH PIECE

  • Digital format: JPEG
  • Entry form must be filled out in its entirety. List sizes up to the nearest inch. Submitted images must not include matting or frame. Crop the photos to include only the artwork. Be sure your images are right side up.
  • Before uploading your images, make sure they are smaller than 4MB, but at least 1920 pixels on the longest side at 72 dpi. Images should be in JPEG format, sRGB color space. Help in photographing your work and properly sizing your images can be found at: www.onlinejuriedshows.com/help.aspx.
