Fran is an accomplished and highly respected artist, having worked as a professional artist for over 30 years. She is a designated “Master Artist” with the Outdoor Painters Society and has received Signature designation with the American Impressionist
Society and the American Women Artists.

Important Dates

Eligibility Requirements

• The show is open to members of Houston Art Society and Lone Star Art Guild members (LSAG).

• Artwork must have been created in the last 2 years.

• The piece must be an original by the artist.  The piece may not be copied from another artist’s work or created under supervision or in a workshop or a class.

• The artwork cannot have won a 1st, 2nd or 3rd place ribbon in a previous HAS or LSAG show.

• No digitally manipulated work (other than cropping and sizing) is allowed except in the Digital Category of the show.  Artwork cannot be enhanced.

• The Digital category includes: Photoshopped/enhanced artwork, digital photography and art designed with Procreate or other digital apps.

Entry Fees

HAS Member:  

• 1-3 images for $30 and $10 for each additional.  A total of 5 images allowed.

LSAG Member:

• 1-3 images for $40 and $15 for each additional.  A total of 5 images allowed.

School Student Member:

• Must become an HAS student member:  $5.  
•   1-5 images at $5 an image.  A total of 5 images allowed.

Entry Process:

• Entries are made using OnlineJuriedShows.com only. 

• Go to http://www.onlinejuriedshows.com and sign-in or register for a new User
  Account.

• Submit up to 5 images.

• Images should be in JPEG format and cropped to not show any frame or mat, only the artwork.  Images should be right side up and not crooked.

• Ideally your image should be 1920 pixels on the longest side at 72 dpi.  At the very least, your image should be 800 pixels on the longest side.

File size cannot be larger than 4MB.

• Help in photographing and properly sizing your work can be found at:  www.onlinejuriedshows.com/help.aspx.

Payments

The entry fee is paid via PayPal or credit card to Online Juried Shows upon completion of registration.  No checks accepted.  All entry fees are nonrefundable and must be paid by the entry deadline.

When payment is complete, you will be issued a receipt with images of all paintings registered and paid for.

Sales and Pricing

If your art is not for sale, mark it NFS (Not for Sale).  All sales will be handled through OnlineGalleryShows.com with a 15% commission rate.  If you choose to sell your artwork, all pricing must include shipping to anywhere in the Continental United States.  All pieces for sale on the OnlineGalleryShows.com website include free shipping for the buyer; so please make sure that you realistically calculate a shipping price and include that, as well as the commission rate,  in the price of your artwork.  

Shipping of Sold Pieces

This is an online show posted on the OnlineGalleryShows.com website (http://www.onlinegalleryshows.com) .  You should have your piece ready to ship within 7 days of your being notified of the sale.  The proceeds check for the sold pieces will be sent to HAS within 10 business days of the exhibition close, and then distributed to the artists. Payment is contingent upon confirmation that the artwork has been received by the buyer.

Divisions/Categories

This is NOT a LSAG approved show.  Unlike our previous HAS shows, there will be no divisions (Professional thru Adult Student) or categories based on mediums.  The categories will be: 

• Floral
• Portrait
• Still Life
• Landscape
• Abstract
• Animal
• Mixed Media
• Digital

Any adult artist in any medium is eligible for these prizes.  There will be no division of elementary, middle or high school in the Student Category.  One student will win the Best Student Award.  There will be a Best of Show Award.

HAS will also provide a file with information regarding the calculation of shipping charges that need to be included in your pricing.

Terms:

As a condition of entry to the 2020 HAS Virtual Fall Show, the submitting artist agrees to the terms and conditions stated herein including granting permission to the Houston Art Society and Online Juried Shows to reproduce the entered paintings on the websites noted above for advertising and promotional purposes only.  No images will be used or published for any purpose except as stated above.

OnlineGalleryShows.com will be sending all accepted artists a DocuSign contract that must be signed and submitted prior to the show going live on December 8th.
