Juror of Selection
ISABELLE V. LIM, PSA-MP, IAPS-MC, SPF-MP
Isabelle is a Master Pastelist - Pastel Society of America ; Maître Pastelliste ( de la Sociéte des Pastellistes de France ), a member of Master Circle of International Association of Pastel Societies ( I A P S ); Honorable Member – Pastel Society of Taipei; Signature Member of Pastel Society of Spain and Degas Pastel Society.
Isabelle lives is a Singapore artist working as a judge, art writer and an art instructor. She currently lives and paints full time in Hong Kong.
Primarily self-taught in drawing and painting, she enrolled in art education through Open College of the Art, a Fine Art Correspondence institution based in United Kingdom under the tutelage of Edward Phelps. She received the Residency Fellowship at Vermont Studio Center, U.S.A. in 2001 & 2008 and attended other intensive courses and workshop in the U.K., France, Australia and Indonesia.
The diverse subjects she chooses to paint are based largely on Asian art, culture and the simplistic environment. She believes painting is all about colors, light and contrast.
She exhibits regularly at international juried and invitational shows and has won numerous international art awards and received several honors. Isabelle contributes her writings for international art magazines, Pratique des Arts and Pastel Journal ( a Honorary Editorial Advisory Board ). Her pastel works are featured in several art books and international publications.
Judge of Awards
NANCIE KING MERTZ, PSA-MP, CPP-MP,IAPS-MC&EP
An award-winning artist, Nancie has spent her lifetime painting in oil and pastel. She received her BFA in Painting from the University of Illinois, where she was a James Scholar. Her MA degree was conferred from Eastern Illinois University where she served as a art instructor for 3 years; was named 2009 Distinguished Alum of the Graduate School and 2016 Distinguished Alum of the University. She was awarded the Master Circle Medallion by the IAPS in 2015, their Eminent Pastelist distinction in 2018, and Winner Prix de Pastel, IAPS 2018.
Nancie is a Master Signature member of the Pastel Society of America and the Chicago Pastel Painters. She teaches nationally and internationally and is on the faculty for the Plein Aire Convention, Plein Air Live, and the IAPS Convention. She has been named the 2021 Guest of Honor by the French Pastel Society, where a show of her work will be featured in Giverny, France. She offers Zoom & destination workshops around the world and local demos, and serves as a juror for gallery, magazine and online shows across the country.
Nancie is a prolific Chicago painter who has been featured in the Pastel Journal, Plein Air Magazine, Southwest Art and Pratique des Arts. DRY PASTELS ONLY!
Eligibility
This Exhibition is open to all artists over the age of 18 working in the soft pastel medium.
80% of the exposed surface must be dry pastel.
No oil pastels.
The work can not have been accepted into any prior PSNC Pure Color International Online Exhibition. Those not adhering to this will not have work accepted in the next 3 years of Pure Color International Online Shows.
Must have been created in the last 4 years.
There is no size limitation.
Must be entirely the work of the artist and not copied from another artist’s work, photos, or publications.
Must not have been created under supervision in a workshop or class.
May not be glazed works with a finished surface of matte acrylic, resin, or solvent varnish.
If the work is not for sale, check “NFS” on the entry form.
Entry Fees
Member Pricing: $30 for up to 3 images for members of the Pastel Society of North Carolina. (Please make sure your membership dues are up-to-date). $10 each for up to 3 additional entries. A total of 6 entries allowed per artist.
Non-member Pricing: $40 for up to 3 images for artists not a member of the Pastel Society of North Carolina. $10 each for up to 3 additional entries. A total of 6 entries allowed per artist.

Entry Process
Entries are made using Online Juried Shows only.
Go to www.onlinejuriedshows.com and sign in or register a user account.
Up to 6 images may be submitted – up to 2 paintings may be accepted into show per artist.
No file-naming restrictions. Juror will not see the file name.
JPEGS must not show mat, frame, etc., and must be an accurate representation of the artwork. Crop the photos to include only the artwork. Be sure your images are right side up.
Images must be smaller than 3MB, 1920 pixels on the longest side, and 72dpi.
Images should be in JPEG format, RGB color space.

Payment
The ENTRY FEE is paid via PayPal/Credit card to Online Juried Shows upon submission. No checks accepted. All entry fees are nonrefundable and must be paid by the entry deadline.
Awards Payment
Awards will be made through PayPal.
Sales
Prices may not be changed after submission is completed and after the submission deadline.
The artist is responsible for any sales transactions, and no commissions will be charged. PSNC is not involved with transactions.
As a condition of entry to the 2021 Pure Color Online International Exhibition, the submitting artist agrees to the terms and conditions stated herein including granting permission to the Pastel Society of North Carolina and Online Juried Shows to reproduce the accepted paintings on their websites, and for advertising and promotional purposes only. No images will be used or published for any purpose except as stated above.
