“Local Escapes”

MBPAPA Signature Member Show 

July 2nd - August 26th 2021 Pacific Grove Art Center

Eligibility: Monterey Bay Plein Air Painters Association (MBPAPA) members who hold "signature member" status and who have paid their 2021 dues. For further information please see our website - www.mbpapa.org. 

Theme: This last year we have all had to “escape” into nature to help us cope with the pandemic and its restrictions. Let us share some of our favorite places of escape in our area. 

Paintings requirements: 

  • Paintings are to be completed primarily en plein air.
  • They may not have been exhibited prior in any MBPAPA show 
  • All paintings will be delivered to the show framed and ready to hang, including hanging wire. 
  • The painting dimensions cannot be larger than 12x16 unframed 

Please note: In addition to the usual information on the back of your painting each piece should have a removable label on the Front of each work with title, price, medium and name of artist. These “stickies” will be removed once the wall labels are up. 

Sales : PG Art Center will receive a 40% commission of sales price on all pieces sold. 

Image Submission: This is a juried exhibit. Each artist may submit a maximum of 3 digital images to "onlinejuriedshows.com" for the jury selection process. For further information and to pay the $35 jury fee go to "onlinejuriedshows.com", scroll down to the "MBPAPA Signature Show, “ Local Escapes” listing and click "enter this show".

Calendar: 

Digital image submission and fees paid "onlinejuriedshows.com" - no later than midnight June 11th, 2021
Notification of Acceptance —June 22nd 2021
Deliver accepted and framed work to the PG Art Center June 27th, 2021 between 1-4pm 

Exhibit –July 2 through August 26th, 2021
Opening reception -- information to follow with acceptance letter.
Pick up Paintings -- Aug 28th, 2021 12-4pm (this will coincide with the drop off for the General Membership show to make things easier for participants of both shows)
