Awards Ceremony (Virtual): Saturday, September 11, 2021, during the PSST meeting,                                          

                                            10:30am – 12:30pm.

The show goes live:             Sunday, September 12, 2021- The show runs for 3 weeks.

Exhibition Details:

1. Call for Entries & Entry Fee: Sunday, May 30, 2021

• Up to four (4) entries can be submitted.
• $20 per Emerging Artist and Established Artist for up to two (2) images.
• $10 per additional image up to two (2) resulting four (4) in total.

2. Awards will be emailed, or snail-mailed according to the award granted.

Entry Requirements

1. Eligibility

• Open to all paid members of the Pastel Society of Southeast Texas.
• Click here to join PSST.
• Artworks that have been shown in any prior PSST shows are not eligible.
• Emerging Artist Level:
• You are not represented by an art gallery.
• You have not won a major award (1^st, 2^nd, 3^rd place in show or 1^st in category).
• You are a student or hobbyist.
• You are not a Signature Member of a national art associations.
• Established Artist Level:
• You are accepted into national exhibitions. 
• You have won a major exhibit award (1^st, 2^nd, 3^rd place in show or 1^st in category).
• You have an active presence with a website, blog, or newsletter.
• You sell your work in a gallery, online, special show, or coop setting.
• You have earned a designated status in a prominent pastel society by points or jurying.
• You may teach workshops or give demos. 
• You qualify as “Emerging Artist” but prefer to compete in this category.

2. Medium

• Soft and/or hard pastel on any surface.
• Under-painting is admissible, but artwork must be a minimum of 80% pastel.
• Oil pastels are NOT accepted.

3. Originality

• All work presented for this exhibit shall be original. Compositions based on published material (unless your own), another artist’s work, or another photographer’s work, are NOT considered original and are NOT eligible.
• Paintings executed in a workshop or class under another artist’s supervision are NOT eligible.
• Entries must have been painted from life or from a photo that you have taken yourself, or from your imagination.
• Paintings must have been completed within the last two (2) years.
• No digitally manipulated work (other than cropping per specs listed below), painted giclee prints, any types of reproductions, manipulated, or painted overwork will be accepted. 
• Paintings must not have been photoshopped, the image transferred, or manipulated in any way (other than cropped or resized per instructions below).

4. Subject

• The PSST Exhibition Committee reserves the right to reject work deemed unsuitable for exhibition at the venue/online.

5. Size

• There are no size restrictions.

6. Digital Image Specifications

• Digital images of your artwork should be high quality, look professional and accurately represent your work.
• Image size can be a maximum of 1920 pixels on the long side with a 72dpi resolution. Maximum file size of 4 MB. Jpeg file is preferable.

• Do not include frame in your artwork image.

7. Framing

• All artwork on the OnlineGalleryShows.com is posted and sold unframed. 

8. Registration: Things you need to gather before filling out the form.

• Artist name.
• Artist address (to receive the award).
• Artist email.
• Artwork title.
• Artwork size; framed and/or unframed.
• Artwork category: Emerging Artist or Established Artist
• Artwork price or Not For Sale (NFS). Please read below about art sales.

The PSST Non-Juried Exhibition Committee has the discretion to reject any work that, in their estimation, does not meet the guidelines.

1. Entry Fee and Registration Process

2. Invitations

A printable invitation will be available for you by email. Use this invitation for

printing and/or Social media, newsletter, or blog use. Send it to all your

friends, family, and collectors.

3. Sale of Artwork

• There will be no substitutions of paintings during the show and no early removal of artwork.
• Online Juried Shows will handle sales through OnlineGalleryShows.com (OGS)
• The OGS.com website takes a 15% commission on all pieces sold. 
• All artwork on the OnlineGalleryShows.com is posted and sold unframed and shipped freight free so it is particularly important that the artist includes the shipping price in the cost of the artwork when it is uploaded on OnlineJuriedShows.com.
• In consideration of the 2 points above, it is suggested that the artist adds 28% to the cost of their painting to cover handling of sales and shipping costs.
• Artists will be required to return an artist agreement prior to the show going live. Artists agreements will be emailed to accepted artists by OnlineGalleryShows.
• All sold pieces must be shipped within 7 business days.
• A red dot will be placed on the sold artwork, and the check will be sent to the artists within 30 days of the show closing.

4. Agreement and Liability

• Submission of a work of art in this exhibit shall constitute an agreement by all parties to all conditions of this prospectus.
• Entry in this exhibit gives PSST the right to photograph or use the submitted images for promotional purposes, including posting submitted and award-winning entries on the PSST website and Social Media.
