Santa Cruz Art League creates an environment where local as well as regional & national artists display their art. The many classes in art and performance provide a space for learning and enhancing the creative process. Established in 1919, Santa Cruz Art League is Santa Cruz County’s longest standing arts organization, and is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit.

 

Exhibition Details

For over nine decades, the Santa Cruz Art League’s Statewide Landscape Exhibition has showcased the work of artists across the Golden State who depict California’s foothills, mountains, seashores, and deserts of the interior and coastal regions.

 

Open to statewide residents. Any 2D media will be accepted. The SCAL reserves the right to decline or remove any work that does not conform to the agreement.

 

Eligibility

Open to United States residents living in California, must be 18 years old or older.  The Santa Cruz Art League reserves the right to decline or remove any work that does not conform to the agreement. 

 

Fees

Entry fee paid to www.OnlineJuriedShows.com: Non-Refundable.
SCAL Members - $35 for one entry, $10 for each additional entry up to 4.
Non-Members - $40 for one entry, $10 for each additional entry up to 4.

 

ENTERING YOUR IMAGES:

For best results, make sure your image is 1920 pixels @72 dpi on the longest side.  Images should be in JPEG format, sRGB color space.  Help in photographing your work and properly sizing your images can be found at: www.OnlineJuriedShows.com/help.aspx.  If you need help entering your images or are unable to, please email Help@OnlineJuriedShows.com or call 949-287-8645.

 

Juror: Carolyn Lord

A "plein air" artist since college, Carolyn Lord was influenced by the 20th Century California Watercolor Style of Millard Sheets and his peers, featuring bold color and strong design. Her career has capitalized on watercolor's portability to paint the vernacular architecture, landscape, and gardens of her home state of California. Lord is a Signature Member of the California Art Club, National Watercolor Society, and American Women Artists. She has been profiled in American Artist, Plein Air, and Watercolor Artist magazines; podcast interviews with Savvy Painter, Learn to Paint, and Art Chat. Her watercolors are in the permanent collections of the Hilbert Museum, Buck Collection, Museum of Ventura County.  Recent group shows include: De Young Open; Triton Salon; San Luis Obispo Museum Brushstrokes; and a perennial favorite the Santa Cruz Art League Statewide Landscape Exhibition.  www.carolynlord.com

Sales

All work must be for sale. Artists agree to donate 45% of any sale of work to Santa Cruz Art League (SCAL) or 30% of sale if SCAL Member. Artist will be paid three weeks from end of exhibition. 

SCAL insures work only after installation. Maximum insured value $1000 regardless of price. 

 

Awards

Juror will grant $1500 in Awards.

Calendar

Timeline of events:

Open/close date for submitting their work online:

Deadline: September 20, Monday (11:59pm).

Mail Accept/Decline out:  September 27, Monday. 

Drop off of artwork:

Shipping Drop Off: November 10, 11, 12, (Wednesday – Friday, 1-4pm)
Drop off: November 14, Sunday, 12-4pm & November 15, Monday, 1-3pm.

Work must arrive on required dates.

Pickup: January 9, Sunday, 4-6pm & January 10, Monday, 1-3pm.

$5 a day Late Pickup fee.

 

Work requiring special handling is to be installed & removed by artist.

No work may be substituted or exchanged for any reason.

Work must be original, and for sale, ready to install.

Shipped entries must have a Prepaid Return Shipping Label (UPS & FedEx) 

$20 check for unpacking/repacking fee per box.

 

Artist bio and/or brief information on artwork with photo is required for Gallery Bio Book, when accepted.
