About the LGAA

Juror: Ellen Howard
Ellen is recognized for her tranquil and peaceful landscape paintings. Her paintings reflect the beauty that is found in nature. Ellen is Vice President of the California Art Club. She has been juried into the 107th, 108th, 109th and 110th Annual Gold Medal Exhibitions (California Art Club) and the American Impressionist Society’s Small works exhibition in 2018, “Best of America” NOAPS national exhibitions in 2016 and 2017. Her two “solo exhibitions” were held in 2019 at the Mendocino Art Center in July 2019 and the Peninsula Museum of Art in September 2019. Ellen’s work has been showcased Plein Air Magazine and American Art Collectors magazine. Eric Rhoads featured her demo on marsh reflections in his daily painting Live Series in January 2020. Several of her articles have been published by Outdoor Painter as well as Blogs by Oil Painters of America. Ellen teaches weekly oil painting classes at Art Attack in Burlingame and plein air workshops throughout Northern California. Her website: www.ellenhowardart.com

Eligibility
Anyone may enter who is 18 years of age or older and a current member of LGAA.
Online Show Description and Parameters
Images of all mediums in 2D and 3D are accepted. All art must be original in concept, done in the last two years, and not shown in a previous LGAA show. Not accepted are wearable art or jewelry, functional ceramics, crafts, installations, video/films, or art based on copyright-protected sources used without permission. This is a family-friendly show, so please no nudes or adult themes such as war, violence, etc. Artist agrees to have images of the art posted on the LGAA website in the online exhibition format. The juror may choose up to two entries per artist.
Entry Fees (Non-refundable)
$35 first entry, $15 per additional entry - MAXIMUM is 6 entries Total.
Awards
Awards total $900
Best in Show - $300, First Place - $200, Second Place - $150, Third Place - $100, People's Choice* - $100, 3 Honorable Mentions - $25, Bonus for multiple entries**. A member may only receive one award per exhibition.
Awards will be announced at the LGAA Members meeting on November 7th and award monies & ribbons will be mailed to the award winners.
*People’s Choice award is voted on by an online survey. The award is announced at the January monthly meeting in 2022.
**Those who enter two or more art pieces will be included in a raffle for a gift certificate from University Art in the amount of $50. The raffle is held at the January monthly meeting in 2022.
Online Submission Requirements
All artwork submissions must be in digital format only using the online site onlinejuriedshows.com. Each artist may submit a maximum of six (6) artworks. An artist may have up to 2 images accepted into the show. Images must be in .JPG format, at least 1920 dpi on the longest side, with a resolution of 72 dpi. Images of 2D art must not include the frame. Help on how to photograph your work will be provided by Online Juried Shows, the online jury site.
Sales
The online show will be posted on the LGAA website for viewing with artwork prices for posted. All sales for any artwork will be between the artist and buyer. The retail price posted in the online exhibition will be the same price entered online. Note: Your art DOES NOT have to be for sale.
Notification
Notification of whether or not your work was accepted has been revised to Saturday, October 30, 2021.
Changes from last year:
- No Delivery as show will be held online.
- No Minimum size requirements as this is an online exhibition.
- An online reception will be held to award prizes – checks will be mailed to all winners.
