SELECTION & AWARDS JUROR: Ken Wiley

Ken Wiley received his BFA in art from the New York Institute of Technology and earned his MA and MFA degrees in painting and drawing from the University of Iowa. In 1968, the year North Country Community College opened, he was hired to teach art and develop the art program, teaching there for thirty-four years. In 2003, he was invited to join the Guild and was a member until 2017. Stylistically, as an oil painter, Wiley has run the gamut starting with naturalism. In the following years he produced semi-abstract and abstract paintings. Now and for more than thirty years, he works in watercolors and acrylics in a representational manner. Wiley taught the colleges photography courses and uses the camera as his sketchbook while traveling. His works have been accepted in national and regional shows in California, Iowa, Nebraska, Minnesota, New York City, and many juried shows throughout the North Country where he has won numerous awards.
