2022 Curator's Juried Art Competition



Call Description:
Each year we seek to add a select group of fine artists whose work aligns with our mission and goals to our Curator Circle . Artists in our Curator Circle represent some of the finest artists in the world. Selected artists, in addition to receiving cash, publication and merchandise awards, are also afforded special opportunities to interact with collectors, patrons and sponsors which typically result in mutually satisficing arrangements in terms of financial and career possibilities.

Categories: Figures and Portraits, Still Life, Landscapes

Entry Instructions:
SUBJECT MATTER AND CATEGORIES: There will be three categories consisting of: (i) Figures and Portraits; (ii) Still Lifes; and (iii) Landscapes. Figurative and portraiture work may include animals, pets or other creatures. Artists may submit up to three images for consideration and that are in line with our mission, which is to promote the best examples of traditional, representational fine art that showcases the artists individual style and creativity. Artwork can focus on a single category or be spread out amongst any of the three categories offered. All three pieces may be entered in a single category.

ELIGIBILITY: All artists over 18 years of age working in 2D painting or drawing media. Paintings must be in traditional materials such as oil, acrylic, pastel, goache or watercolor. Drawings may be in pencil, ink, charcoal or other traditional drawing media.

ENTRY FEE: $40 for up to 3 images.

AWARDS: Three Awards of Excellence, $200 each; Three Awards of Distinction, $75 each; Three Awards of Merit, $50 each. In addition, we will award at least 5 Honorable Mention Awards. Recipients of Honorable Mention Awards will receive a free entry in any of our quarterly art competitions (a $35 value). Each Award Winner will receive a personalized Certificate of Award suitable for framing.

In addition, all Award Winners will have their art featured in a special section of Haywain Magazine, receive a free full page ad and be featured on our website, press releases and other published announcements. The online exhibit will begin April 1, 2022 and conclude on May 31, 2022.

JURORS: Our Juror of Awards is Professor Girardi de Russo, Director and Former Dean of the Acadamie di Belli Arti di Roma, Rome, Italy. His artwork has been awarded National Medals from France, Italy and Russia. Our Jury Panel will include staff members of the Art Preservation institute.

Artists accepted for the Online Exhibit will have their artwork displayed on our site for up to 60 days on the exhibition dates specified in the prospectus.

We will contact Award Winners with further details about submitting images for advertising awards.

Terms of Entry for Entrants:
* All awards are processed after the contest closes and we determine that you have complied with all contest rules;
* Artwork must be created on one singular flat substrate.
* Copyright infringement of any kind is unacceptable.You must be able to provide signed documentation of total copyright should API request.
* Digital apps and programs may be used for cropping your reference photos, etc., but no digital, mechanical, photo, or other transferance to the substrate of any kind is acceptable. You must draw and/or paint the image on the substrate yourself.
* Your submission must be originally conceived: your own reference, your own drawing, your own concept and must have been self -painted.
