Plein Air Rockies 2016
Event
Plein Air Rockies, now in its 15th year, attracts some of the country’s top plein air artists,who draw their inspiration from the beauty of Rocky Mountain National Park and the surrounding areas. The event is sponsored by the Cultural Arts Council of Estes Park which supports visual and performing arts throughout the Estes Valley.
This year’s main event and Paint Out will take place from August 13-25, 2016 in the town of Estes Park Colorado.
Eligibility
Plein Air Rockies is open to any artist, 18 years or older, who paints using the plein air technique.

Fees
Artists may submit up to three (3) digital images of plein air paintings for the entry fee of $45.00. All entries must be submitted through www.onlinejuriedshows.com. Entry fee must be paid by the entry deadline and entry fees are non-refundable.
Entering Your Images
For best results, make sure your image is 1920 pixels @72 dpi on the longest side. Images should be in JPEG format, sRGB color space. Help in photographing your work and properly sizing your images can be found at: www.OnlineJuriedShows.com/help.aspx. If you need help entering your images or paying, please email

Jurors
Entry jurors will make the final decision on 25-30 participating artists. Artists will receive notification by email of acceptance or decline on or before April 1, 2016.
Dave Santillanes and Carol Jenkins, both nationally known and highly acclaimed plein air artists, will be the awards judges for Plein Air Rockies 2016. For more information about the judges, please visit

Sales
Sales from this event support the Cultural Arts Council of Estes Park, a non-profit organization. The 50% commission on all sales goes to support the ongoing efforts of the Council.
Lodging/Transportation
Plein Air Rockies makes every effort to provide housing in private homes for all participating artists during the Paint Out period. For those who prefer to say in a local motel, discounted group rates will be available.
Awards
Plein Air Rockies selects and provides awards in no fewer than 14 categories. More than $10,000 in cash and other prizes are awarded each year.

The Plein Air Rockies and the Cultural Arts Council of Estes Park are not responsible for the loss or damage of any artwork, for any reason, no matter what the cause. By submitting artwork to this show and sale, you understand and agree with this statement. Insurance for any loss or damage to artwork is the sole responsibility of the participating artist. The artist also agrees to handle the shipment and removal of accepted works as set forth in the shipping instructions. Images submitted by artists may be used for educational and publicity purposes.
