EXHIBITION TITLE:
19th Annual “Best of Plein Air”
EXHIBITION DATES:
Monday, February 27 through Monday April 3, 2023
LOCATION:
LPAPA Gallery, 414 North Coast Hwy, Laguna Beach, CA 92651, (949) 376-3635
Hours: Thursday through Monday, 11:00 am to 5:00 pm, and by appointment
QUALIFICATIONS:
Open to all LPAPA Signature Members, Artists Members and Student Members in good standing
SUBJECT MATTER:
Open to all subjects painted outdoors en plein air
DEADLINE:
Submit before 11:59 pm on Monday, February 6, 2023
ART ELIGIBILITY:
All work must be completed en plein air
Entries must be original and executed within the last year and must not violate copyright laws
Entries must not have been shown in a previous LPAPA Gallery exhibition
Maximum unframed size not to exceed 60 united inches (United Inches = Length + Width)
Minimum unframed size not to be less than 12 united inches (United Inches = Length + Width)
All work must be framed, wired and ready to hang; wires need to allow a sufficient clearance between hook and top of frame so that a 1” hook does not show above the frame when hung; a minimum 2” clearance is recommended; wires revealing hooks after being hung will require rewiring of the painting and delay the painting’s exhibition; paintings must be hung to be included in the awards judging.
Note: The Randy Higbee Gallery/King of Frames offers to frame your work and deliver to the LPAPA Gallery
COMMISSION:
50% to Artist, 50% to LPAPA
All accepted artwork must be available for sale through the LPAPA Gallery
HOW TO APPLY:
Submit jpeg painting images (under 4 mb) online for jurors’ review through www.onlinejuriedshows.com before the deadline
Submitted images will be used to promote the accepted artwork
ENTRY FEE:
$35 for up to 2 painting images; each additional painting image is $5.00
You may submit up to a maximum of 6 painting images
Entry Fee payment must be made through onlinejuriedshows.com
NOTIFICATIONS:
Notifications to be sent to artists via email on or around Monday, February 13, 2023, or as soon as jurying is completed
ART DROPOFF & PICKUP:
Artwork to be delivered or shipped to the LPAPA Gallery to arrive by 1:00 pm on Tuesday, February 28, 2023
The gallery will be open for hand-carried deliveries on Tuesday, February 28th, between 10:00 am - 1:00 pm
Artwork not received within the specified delivery window may not be eligible for awards judging
Artwork may be shipped to and from the LPAPA Gallery at the artist’s expense
Unsold artwork to be picked up on Tuesday, April 4, 2023, between 10:00 am - 1:00 pm
Please note: LPAPA does not have the ability to store artwork for extended periods after a show closes. Please pick up your artwork on the scheduled pickup day, or schedule an alternative pick up time during regular gallery hours or arrange for return shipping within 3 days after the show closes. Unclaimed artwork remaining at the gallery after 14 days of a show closing, without the artist providing payment for return shipping, or scheduling a pickup date, will be considered abandoned and become the property of LPAPA.
Although the utmost care will be taken in handling artwork, neither LPAPA, nor its representatives will be responsible for damage or loss from any cause. Insurance, if desired, is the responsibility of the artist.
