Annual “From Dusk to Dawn” Juried Nocturne Art Show & City Hall Cultural Exhibition

Hours: Thursday through Monday, 11:00 am to 5:00 pm, and by appointment
Semi-Finalist Exhibition:
Laguna Beach City Hall 505 Forest Ave Laguna Beach, CA 92651
City Hall Hours: Monday – Thursday 7:30 am to 5:30 pm, Open Alternate Fridays 7:30 am to 4:30 pm
QUALIFICATIONS:
Open to all LPAPA members in good standing, Signature Members, Artist Members and Student Members
SUBJECT MATTER:
Open to subjects that depict the best representation of the show’s nocturne theme “From Dusk to Dawn”
DEADLINE:
Submit before 11:59 pm on Monday, June 26, 2023
ART ELIGIBILITY:
Plein air and studio work accepted, all painting mediums
Entries must be original and executed within the last year and must not violate copyright laws
Entries must not have been shown in a previous LPAPA Gallery exhibition
Maximum painting size unframed size not to exceed 60 united inches (length + width)
Minimum painting size unframed size not to be less than 12 united inches (length + width)
All work must be framed, wired and ready to hang. When wiring your work, please keep in mind that we need sufficient clearance to allow for hanging without showing the hook. We suggest that you measure the framed work and then put the wire 1/3 of the way down from the top edge of the frame. Rewiring may be required if the painting can not be hung without showing the hook which may delay the hanging of the painting; paintings must be hung to be included in the awards judging.
Note: The Randy Higbee Gallery/King of Frames offers to frame your work and deliver to the LPAPA Gallery, with a portion of the framing fee donated to support LPAPA
COMMISSION:
50% to Artist, 50% to LPAPA (Proceeds are paid after the show ends and collector payments are reconciled)
All accepted artwork must be available for sale through the LPAPA Gallery though the end of the show
HOW TO APPLY:
Submit jpeg painting images online for jurors’ review through www.onlinejuriedshows.com before the deadline. Image files must be under 4 mb. For help with your entries, contact onlinejuriedshows@gmail.com or 888-666-1351.
Submitted images will be used to promote the accepted artwork
ENTRY FEE:
$35 for up to 2 painting images; each additional painting image is $5.00
You may submit up to a maximum of 6 painting images
Entry Fee payment must be made through onlinejuriedshows.com
NOTIFICATIONS:
Notifications to be sent to artists via email on or around Monday, July 5, 2023, or as soon as jurying is completed
ART DROPOFF & PICKUP:
Finalist Artwork to be delivered or shipped to the LPAPA Gallery to arrive by 1:00 pm on Tuesday, August 1, 2023
The gallery will be open for hand-carried deliveries on Tuesday, August 1st, between 10:00 am - 1:00 pm
Artwork not received within the specified delivery window may not be eligible for awards judging
Artwork may be shipped to and from the LPAPA Gallery at the artist’s expense
Unsold artwork to be picked up on Tuesday, August 30th, 2023, between 10:00 am - 1:00 pm
Semi-Finalist Artwork to be delivered to City Hall on Saturday August 12, 2023 ( Note date change) between 10:00 am - 12:00 pm
Unsold gallery artwork to be picked up on Saturday September 23, 2023 between 10:00 am - 12:00 pm
Artwork may be shipped to and from the LPAPA Gallery at the artist’s expense
Please Note: LPAPA does not have the ability to store artwork for extended periods after a show closes. Please pick up your artwork on the scheduled pickup day, or schedule an alternative pick up time during regular gallery hours or arrange for return shipping within 3 days after the show closes. Unclaimed artwork remaining at the gallery after 14 days of a show closing, without the artist providing payment for return shipping, or scheduling a pickup date, will be considered abandoned and become the property of LPAPA.
Although the utmost care will be taken in handling artwork, neither LPAPA, nor its representatives will be responsible for damage or loss from any cause. Insurance, if desired, is the responsibility of the artist.
