 Combine Art Collective in Walla Walla, WA, is inviting contemporary artists to submit your unique creations for our third annual juried exhibit.

January 13, 2024, thru February 25, 2024

Six-week gallery show in Walla Walla

 

Important Dates:

August 1, 2023:   Open Registration

November 17, 2023:   Registration Closes

December 1, 2023:  Artist notification by email

January 8, 2024: Accepted Art scheduled to arrive at gallery in person or shipment

January 14, 2024:  Reception 1pm to 3 pm

February 25 & 26, 2024: Art pickup or return shipment.

February 26, 2024:  People’s Choice Announced

 

Awards:

1st Place:           $350

2ndPlace:          $250

3rd Place            $150

2 Honorable Mentions, certificate only award.

People’s Choice:  $75

 

Eligibility and Requirements:

 

Artists (18 years or older) working in all visual art mediums are acceptable, except video and/or digital art

 Sizes:  2D maximum size is limited to 30” x 30” including frame ready to hang 

 Minimum size accepted image size 8” x 10” (not including frame).

 3 D work is limited to 50 lbs. and not larger than 30" x 30" x 30"

 

Artwork must be original, created in the last three years and solely the original work of individual artist.  All artworks must be originally drawn and not created on top of a photo or a print.  Works created in collaboration with another artist or in a class or workshop are not eligible to be submitted. 2D work must be appropriately framed in a contemporary fashion or be a work on a gallery - wrapped 2" canvas with the edges painted.  Unframed canvases of less than 2" and not gallery wrapped are not eligible for exhibit.  Works that do not meet these criteria will not be displayed, even if inadvertently accepted into the show.

 

All work, 2 and 3D, must have appropriate hanging material installed on the work.  No sawtooth hangers or clamped glass is allowed.

 

All art must be available for sale, shown for the duration of the event, and subject to a sales commission of 40% to Combine Art Collective.

 

Accepted artwork and artists will be featured on Combine Art Collective’s website.

 

Jurors:

 

Bonnie Zahn Griffith-

 

Bonnie Griffith is a contemporary and impressionistic landscape artist and educator living and working at her studio in southwestern Idaho.  She is an established and award winning plein air painter who participates in numerous plein air events throughout the western US annually creating paintings of the land.  

Griffith has a kinship with the land, growing up in northcentral Montana on a cattle ranch; often appreciating (and sometimes not!) the vast openness of the landscape from the back of a horse.

Griffith works in oils and pastels mostly but enjoys other mediums of gouache and encaustic.  She has studied with renowned artist/instructors Scott Christensen, Robert Moore, Ned Mueller and Lorenzo Chavez.  Her work is shown in galleries in Montana, Idaho, Oregon, Washington, and Utah. 

In addition to creating her ow work, Griffith teaches workshops in Plein Air Painting and Pastels in her studio and at locations throughout the west and juries and judges art exhibits in galleries and museums.

Matthew B. Pierce, MFA-

 Matthew B. Pierce, MFA is a Washington State native and received his Bachelors of Arts degree in Commercial Art from Walla Walla University and worked nationally as a graphic designer and illustrator for the next 23 years. In 2015 Matthew completed his MFA in Painting and Drawing at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco and quickly transitioned into a career as a professional artist and educator.

 

Entry Fees:

 

$30 for 3 submitted works

2 additional entries may be submitted for $10 each

A maximum of two pieces may be accepted per artist 

 

Shipping and delivery details will be provided to artists whose work is accepted in the event.  Shipping costs are solely the responsibility of the artist.  Shipped work must include a prepaid return shipping label.
