California Art Club Artist Member Jurying 2023

Dear Associate Artist,

We are pleased to announce that the Artist Membership Review Committee will conduct the annual review of applications for Artist and Out-of-State Artist membership in the California Art Club. All current and active Associate Artist members of the Club are eligible to apply at this time.

The process is highly competitive and acceptance as an Artist, or Out-of-State Artist member, is very limited. Acceptance is a great honor that qualifies you to submit your artwork for significant exhibitions including the Annual Gold Medal Exhibition, CAC-sponsored museum exhibitions, and the California Art Club Gallery at The Old Mill.

The jury is looking for traditional fine artists who produce work of the highest standard. Applicants are considered an asset to the Club, and should demonstrate a high degree of professionalism and a unique style. During the process, the jury considers the artwork quality and consistency, as well as the artists’ exhibition history and website portfolio.

Current, active Associate Artist members of the California Art Club are eligible to apply for Artist and Out-of-State Artist membership at this time.

SUBMISSION

Please submit high quality images (.jpg) of recent works of art, three entries total.  Sculptors are encouraged to submit up to three views of each work, one main view and two alternate views. Image files must be under 4 mb. For best results, image files should be at least 1920 pixels on the longest side (min 800) at 72 dpi. There is an entry fee of $50, which covers all three works, payable through Online Juried Shows.

NOTES

·       We strongly recommend that you have your artwork professionally photographed.

·       Notification will be sent by mail beginning in early January 2024.  Please do not call the CAC to ask about application status.

·       When submitting your application, please make sure your Profile on Online Juried Shows is up to date, including the Bio/Resume/CV and Artist Statement sections. Click on Your Artist Profile and then Personal Info. Please keep your Bio/Resume/CV files short and free of special characters.

·       Please be aware that your website may be reviewed by the jury.

·       If you are not current on CAC membership dues, your application will not be considered. If you are uncertain of your membership status, please contact the California Art Club at 626.583.9009.

·       If you are not a member of the California Art Club and would like to apply for Artist membership, please join first as an Associate Artist member here.

·       Annual dues for Artist members are $110 and Out-of-State Artist members are $90.  Change in membership level requires a differential of dues.

Associate Artist ($85) to Artist ($110) = $25 additional dues

Associate Artist ($85) to Out-of-State Artist ($90) = $5 additional dues
