Specifications for Outdoor Sculptures

Sculptures should be suitable for long-term, outdoor exposure, fabricated and installed in a viewer-safe manner. Sculptures should be installed in a manner that is sensitive to the natural environment. Sculptures that need maintenance during the exhibition or that differ significantly from submitted images may be excluded.

Works should not exceed 12 feet in height. The Town of Burlington will assist in installation, including concrete pads, if needed. It should be understood that this is a town-sponsored exhibit, so the work should be thought of in terms of a small town center, rather than an art museum. Additionally, politicized works will not be welcome.

Works will have plaques with identifying information. Town insurance will cover damage to works up to $50,000 and liability to the public.

Terms for Accepted Art

Only original art works may be submitted. No substitution of accepted works will be allowed and all artwork must remain in place for the entire exhibition. Artists are responsible for delivery of their work. All accepted entries and winners will also be displayed in an on-line exhibit on the NESA website, www.nesculptors.org, and on the Online Juried Shows website's "Published Shows." By entering this exhibit, artists agree that any accepted artwork may be reproduced and used by the Town of Burlington, the Burlington Sculpture Park, and NESA for advertising, marketing, and promotional purposes for this exhibit or future exhibits without consent of or notification to the Artist or the Artist's agent.
