The theme, “Breaking Boundaries: Women Redefining Art” is an art exhibition that celebrates the significant contributions and innovative spirit of women artists. The exhibit aims to showcase the diverse and transformative works of Women Painters West’s artists who challenge traditional norms, break stereotypes, and carve their own unique paths in the art realm. Through various mediums and perspectives, this exhibit seeks to inspire and empower audiences by highlighting the impact women artists make in shaping the current art landscape. We will explore how, as women, we bring fresh perspectives to classic genres, like portraiture, still life, and landscape painting, infusing them with our own experiences, emotions, and stories. In addition, we will go beyond the canvas and explore new ideas with the innovative use of unconventional mediums and technologies, showcasing how we embrace new contemporary, abstract and digital art, breaking away from traditional boundaries.
The juror is to be determined. He or she will select 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners and three Honorable Mentions. Cash awards for 1st place - $500, 2nd place - $300, and 3rd place - $200.
Eligibility:
Work must be your own original artwork, not done under an instructor’s supervision, and not exhibited in any previous WPW show.
THIS EXHIBIT IS FOR WOMEN PAINTERS WEST MEMBERS IN GOOD STANDING ONLY.
Specifications:
Work does not have to be for sale. WPW takes no commission for any work sold. Submissions must include artist name, email address, phone number, title of work, medium, dimensions and retail price.
• No size restrictions.
• Prices may not be changed after acceptance.
• Original digital art will be considered but not digital reproductions.
Entry Procedure:
Artwork for consideration by juror must be entered in the onlinejuriedshows website by midnight Sunday, April 21, 2024. Log in and click Enter This Show to begin your submissions.
Fees:
$35 for ONE entry, $5 for each additional entry, up to three total entries by a single artist. All fees must be paid by the entry deadline and are non-refundable and payable through onlinejuriedshows. Credit card or PayPal are accepted.
The images from this Exhibit to be displayed on the Women Painters West website are the exclusive property of the individual artists and no rights are conveyed to anyone without the express written permission of the artist.
Digital Images of Each Piece:
Digital format: JPEG
Entry form must be filled out in its entirety. List sizes up to the nearest inch, not including matting or frame. Crop the photos to include only the artwork. Be sure your images are right side up. Before uploading your images, make sure they are smaller than 4MB, but at least 1920 pixels on the longest side at 72 dpi. Images should be in JPEG (.jpg) format, sRGB color space.
