CALL FOR ENTRY / PROSPECTUS

 

2024 CNYWS ANNUAL JURIED EXHIBITION

 

MEMBERS- ONLY

 

June 3rd – Aug. 15th

This call for entries is open to all Associate and Signature members in good standing. (Dues current). Members may submit 1 or 2 paintings/images online to be juried by

High resolution jpeg images to be submitted to OnlineJuriedShows according to site specifications between April 11th – 29th.

 Deadline is April 29th at midnight.

 

Please note there will be a $10 fee for each painting

 

· Online entries to be submitted to OJS for jurying by midnight, April 29th, 2024 (see info above). Images must be jpg and under 4 mb. For best results, images should be 1920 pixels on the longest side or higher @ 72 dpi. For help with your submissions, contact onlinejuriedshows@gmail.com or 888-666-1351. 

· Jurying to be completed by May 6th, with notifications to be sent May 7th – 8th. Results will be available in your OnlineJuriedShows artist profile.  

·  Paintings to collectors by May 24th  (see contact info below) 

·  Delivery of accepted work to gallery: Thursday, May30th, 10 a.m. - noon

·  Opening reception: Sunday, June 9th , 2 – 4 p.m. 

·  Exhibit dates: June3rd–August 15th, 2024 

·  Pick up exhibited work: Friday, August 16th, 10–noon

CNYWS Best In Show (Medal on display, plus $300)

Three Artistic Merit Awards, $100 each

Three Judge’s Choice Awards, $100 each

**Watercolor Requirements / CNYWS Exhibitions** 

 

All work must be original.
No reproductions will be accepted.
Works done at a workshop or under the supervision of an instructor are not eligible. 

 

Paintings done from published photos (such as those on “free” online image sites), or reference materials that are not the creation of the artist, are not eligible. Photo reference material must be by you, the artist, or from a permission-granted, non-published photo taken by others.

 

Paintings shown at previous CNYWS exhibits are not accepted.
All paintings must have been executed within the past two years. All work must be in water-soluble media on paper or Yupo . 

Water- soluble media includes: Transparent or opaque watercolor, casein, gouache, egg tempera, and acrylic painted in an aqueous manner (no thick or raised impasto-like application).
A limited use of pastel, collage, or ink, not constituting more than 10% of the painting, is allowed. 

 

CNYWS EXHIBIT REQUIREMENTS: 

 

1) All paintings must be framed under Plexiglas. No glass will be allowed. If matting, only white or off-white is allowed. A thin, 1/4 inch, colored liner is permitted. Frames must be sturdy and wired to hang. NO SAWTOOTH HANGERS. 

 

2) All delivered art must be boxed in a sturdy container that can be easily carried by one hand. If container is too large, hand holds

 

3) The box should be designed for ease of opening and re-sealing. The size of the box must be appropriate for the size of the largest painting in the box.

 

4) Each box (as well as each painting) must have label(s) attached with the artist’s name, address, email or phone number, and painting info.

 

5) Members sending work by UPS or USPS must send to Shipper/Receiver no later than “deliver to collector” deadline date of the exhibit. All shipping fees, to and from, and the responsibility of artist.

 

ARTIST STATEMENTS

We encourage artists to provide a brief statement to be displayed with each painting. We have had very positive feedback from gallery visitors regarding the personalized statements, as they allow viewers to connect more closely with work. Please email Pam Lynch with your statement(s).
