Call for Photography Submissions: “Assembled Realities: The Art of the Composite” juried exhibition October 18, 2025 – January 17, 2026
Twenty/20 Gallery is thrilled to announce a remarkable opportunity for photographers and artists who create photo-based art of all levels and styles to showcase their talent in our upcoming juried exhibition, “Assembled Realities: The Art of the Composite”
This exhibition aims to be a celebration of photography's rich history and its limitless future. Join us on this extraordinary journey through the evolving realms of traditional and experimental photography.
Show Statement: “Assembled Realities: The Art of the Composite”
In an age where the photograph is no longer bound by a single frame or moment, “Assembled Realities” invites artists to explore the boundless possibilities of photographic composites. This juried exhibition celebrates the creative act of constructing images from multiple sources.
We welcome all techniques and technical approaches, whether rooted in long-standing photographic practices like focus stacking, HDR imaging, and astrophotography compositing, or in imaginative contemporary methods such as digital montage, collage, layered narratives, or AI-assisted synthesis. From seamless realism to surreal construction, composites expand what photography can express. Images created by more traditional means, that may be interpreted as being photo-composites in this day and age, will also be eligible.
We welcome works that blur the line between reality and imagination, documentary and dream. There are no rules—only the challenge to build new worlds, perspectives, and meanings through the art of visual synthesis. Whether your composite is seamless or surreal, expressive or abstract, we invite you to share how you reimagine the photograph in parts and in whole.
About 20/20 Gallery:
Twenty 20 Gallery is an exhibition space created by Robert Pendleton MD, PhD. Robert is a retired ophthalmologist, accomplished artist, and founder of Pendleton Eye Center in Oceanside, which houses the Twenty 20 Gallery. 50-100 people visit the office each weekday, and all artworks are on display in common areas
Submission Details:
· All photographers, regardless of experience, are encouraged to submit their work.
· Each photographer may submit as many photographs as desired.
· The entry fee is $35, covering the submission of three images. Additional submissions are welcomed at a cost of $10 per image.
· Accepted works must be dropped off at the gallery. No mail in submissions will be accepted.

· Entry Opening: June 28, 2025
· Entry Deadline: September 11, Midnight (PST)
· Notification of Accepted Work: September 17, 2025.
· ART DROP OFF: SATURDAY October 18, 2025, from 10:00am-Noon
· Exhibition Dates: M-F 9am to 5pm. October 18, 2025 – Jan 17, 2026
· Opening Reception: Saturday October 25, 2025, from 1:00-4:00pm
· ART PICK UP: SATURDAY January 17, 2026, from 10:00am-Noon
How to Submit:
· Submissions will only be accepted through OnlineJuriedShows
· Log in and click the yellow “Enter this show” at the top of this page to begin your submissions.
· Prepare your digital images for submission. Please ensure they are high-quality and in JPEG format, under 4 mb, with at least 1920 pixels on the longest side.
· Pay the entry fee securely through the OnlineJuriedShows payment system using credit card or PayPal.
· Upload your digital images to OnlineJuriedShows according to the guidelines provided.

Selection Process:
Image selection will be juried/curated by Robert Pendleton. All submitted artwork will be carefully reviewed and evaluated on artistic merit and originality. The chosen photographs will be announced on September 17, 2025, with the results available in your OnlineJuriedShows artist profile.

Presentation:
The space at Twenty 20 Gallery consists of 9 recessed / lighted art niches 48”H x 36”W, one recessed / lighted art niche measuring 57”H x 51”W, and several open walls ranging in size from 3ft to 13 ft. Priority will be given to works that are at least 14 inches in one dimension (including frame).
Works must be framed and or mounted and “ready to hang” by attached picture hanging wire and should not weigh more than 20 pounds. “Saw-toothed” hangers or D-ring hangers will not be accepted. Artwork requiring electricity is not eligible.
Final Acceptance:
Framing and mounting must be of professional quality. Artwork not conforming to the above specifications, not in ready to hang condition with picture hanging wire, or that deviates from the previously submitted digital image will not be displayed in the gallery. Final acceptance will be determined during artwork delivery.
Sales and Commissions:
Images in the show can be reserved for purchase by patrons of the gallery at any time by leaving a deposit of not less than 50%, however, images normally cannot be removed from the gallery until the close of the show. Patrons requesting immediate purchase, however, will be accommodated, when possible, with the artist’s prior approval. Twenty 20 Gallery will retain a 30% commission on all sales. Monies collected for sales will be paid to the artist by check after the completion of the show.
Delivery of Accepted Artwork:
Artwork must be hand-delivered to Twenty 20 Gallery located at 3637 Vista Way, Oceanside, CA 92056. Please note, no mail in submissions will be accepted.
· Hand-delivered artwork drop-off at the Twenty Gallery: SATURDAY, OCTOBER 18, 2025, BETWEEN 10AM - 12 PM. THE GALLERY WILL NOT ACCEPT HAND-DELIVERED ARTWORK AT ANY OTHER TIME. THE GALLERY WILL NOT ACCEPT MAILED ARTWORK.
Pick Up and Return of Artwork:
· Hand-delivered artwork must be picked up from Twenty 20 Gallery, SATURDAY, JANUARY 17, 2026, from 10am – 12pm. NO EXCEPTIONS.
