Outdoor Exhibition Prospectus

 

The Cape Cod Museum of Art (CCMoA) and the New England Sculptors Association (NESA) will invite all 3D artists to submit to our third joint Juried Sculpture Exhibition on the 22-acre campus of the Cape Cod Center for the Arts (35+ outdoor sites identified). The 2026 theme is open and will be juried by Benton Jones, Director of Art, Cape Cod Museum of Art and Samuel Tager, Executive Director, Provincetown Public Art Foundation. In addition to the outdoor sculpture exhibition, there will be a 15-week indoor exhibition at the CCMoA (25-30 works). There will be two separate calls for art; one for the outdoor exhibition and one for the indoor exhibition.

 

Outdoor Exhibition

April 16 through November 14, 2026

Opening Reception - May 30, 2026 from 1:00 - 2:30pm

Closing Reception - November 14, 2026 from 1:00 - 2:30pm

 

Outdoor Exhibition Call Schedule

Call for Art - December 1, 2025 through February 27, 2026

Artists Notified - March 14, 2026

Delivery/Installation - April 9, 10 & April 13, 14 of 2026

Sculpture Pickup - November 14 after the reception ends at 2:30pm until 4pm

or November 15 from 10:00am – 2:00pm

A machine for heavy sculpture placement will be provided on a date TBD for installation and removal.

 

Indoor Exhibition (Information Only)

July 23 through November 14, 2026

Indoor Exhibition Call for Art: April 20 through June 26, 2026

 

 

Specifications for Outdoor Sculptures

•       Works must be three-dimensional.

•       Sculptures should be suitable for long-term, outdoor exposure, fabricated and installed in a viewer-safe manner.

•       Sculptures should be installed in a manner that is sensitive to the natural environment.

•       Any means of anchoring the sculptures should be removed by the artist during de-installation with the site restored to its natural state.

•       Sculptures that need maintenance during the exhibition or that differ significantly from submitted images may be excluded.

 

Stipends, Awards, and Sales:

•       Depending on available funding, stipends between $100 and $200 will be provided to artists selected to participate in the Outdoor Sculpture Exhibition to support installation expenses.

•       $250 awards will be given for Juror's Choice and People's Choice Awards, both for indoor and outdoor exhibitions (four $250 awards in total).

•       Artwork selected for the exhibition can be made available to the public for sale, with 60% of the proceeds going directly to the artist, 30% to CCMoA and 10% to NESA. CCMoA will handle sales transactions with appropriate distribution to the artist and NESA. Transportation and/or installation of purchased art must be arranged between the artist and the buyer.

•       Submissions per artist: 1-3 works for each call

•       Entry Fee: $25.00 for up to 3 submissions per call. Entry fees are non-refundable

•       Images must be jpg and under 4 mb. For best results, images should be 1920 pixels on the longest side @ 72 dpi

Terms for Accepted Art

This will be an in-person show. All accepted entries and winners will also be displayed in an on-line exhibit on the NESA website, www.nesculptors.org, and on the OnlineJuriedShows website's "Published Shows." By entering these exhibitions, artists agree that any accepted artwork may be reproduced for advertising, marketing, and promotional purposes for this exhibition or future exhibitions without consent of, or notification to the Artist or the Artist's agent. Only original art works may be submitted. No substitution of accepted works will be allowed, and all artwork must remain in place for the entire exhibition.
