The theme, “When The Earth Whispers Back: Nature's Hope” will be centered around California's species and landscapes "on the edge" of survival. It will highlight plant and animal species that are endangered, or threatened, or even extinct, and areas of land set aside for conservation & preservation of these species. We will be presenting this show with the purpose of bringing attention to their beauty and fragility, as well as promoting better protection and stewardship of our ecosystems. You may choose any natural spaces you feel have been dedicated to the protection and preservation of nature. Resources that may be helpful:

The directors, Stacy Otte-Demangate and Rachel Metz will be the jurors and will select 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners and three Honorable Mentions.
1st prize: $500
2nd prize: $300
3rd prize: $200
Eligibility:
Work must be your own original artwork, not done under an instructor’s supervision, and not exhibited in any previous WPW show.
THIS EXHIBIT IS FOR CURRENT WOMEN PAINTERS WEST MEMBERS IN GOOD STANDING ONLY.
Specifications:
California Nature Art Museum requires a 40/60 split on purchases. Artist gets
60% of sale. The Museum will process all payments and send artist a check.
Accepted work must be signed by the artist. Submissions must include artist name, medium, and retail price. No more than 2 works to be selected by juror by any single artist.
Liability
Women Painters West or California Nature Art Museum shall not be responsible for loss, theft or damage of artworks while in the museum’s possession or in transit. By entering this show, artists agree to all conditions in this Prospectus.
- Work must not exceed 48 inches vertical x 30 inches horizontal.
- Framed work should have simple narrow neutral frames and mats only.
- Wiring must be in good condition and substantial enough for the weight of the artwork. Wiring must be wrapped with tape at ends. No saw-tooth hangers. All artwork should be ready to hang on the wall for the exhibition.
- All works on paper must be covered with glass or plexiglass.
- All work should be 2-dimensional in any medium.
- Artwork may remain unframed, so long as edges are clean; no staples.
- Delivered work must match the image submitted. No substitutions of accepted works will be allowed.
- All accepted work must remain in the gallery for the duration of the exhibit.
- NOTE THAT THIS EXHIBIT WILL REMAIN AT THE MUSEUM FOR SIX MONTHS.
- Prices may not be changed after acceptance.
- Original digital art will be considered but no AI work or digital reproductions.
- Attach a label to the back upper right corner of each piece.
Entry Procedure:
Artwork for consideration by jurors must be entered in the OnlineJuriedShows website by midnight, February 8, 2026
Fees:
$35 for two entries, $5 for each additional entry, up to three total entries by a single artist. All fees must be paid by the entry deadline and are non-refundable and payable through OnlineJuriedShows. Credit card or PayPal are accepted.
The images from this exhibit to be displayed on the Women Painters West and California Nature Art Museum websites are the exclusive property of the individual artists and no rights are conveyed to anyone without the express written permission of the artist.
Digital Images of Each Piece:
Digital format: JPEG
Entry form must be filled out in its entirety. List sizes up to the nearest inch. Submitted images must not include matting or frame. Crop the photos to include only the artwork. Be sure your images are right side up. Before uploading your images, make sure they are smaller than 4MB, but at least 1920 pixels on the longest side at 72 dpi. Images should be in JPEG (.jpg) format, sRGB color space.
