New Haven Paint and Clay Club
125th Annual Juried Art Exhibition of the New Haven Paint & Clay Club

125th Annual open Juried Art Exhibition of the New Haven Paint & Clay Club

May 26th to June 20th, 2026 at the Guilford Art Center (GAC) Gallery, 411 Church Street, Guilford, CT 06437

the NEW HAVEN PAINT & CLAY CLUB (NHP&CC)

The NHP&CC, founded in 1900, is the oldest continuously active artists’ association in Connecticut. The Club showcases the work of its members and regional artists through annual exhibitions and actively supports the visual arts in the greater New Haven, CT area and beyond. In addition, it holds a large permanent collection of art works purchased from its exhibitions and loans them to several public venues. It also offers merit awards, scholarships, free programs, and lectures to the local arts community. In its early years, membership was by invitation. Now, artists accepted into two of the Club’s juried shows are eligible for active membership. Jurors are experienced artists, academics, or museum professionals who are not members of the Club. More information about the Club and its permanent collection can be found on its website at www.newhavenpaintandclayclub.org.

This Year’s Juror, Nancy Stuart, PhD

Dr. Stuart is an artist, an educator, and an administrator with former leadership roles at the Cleveland Institute of Art where she was provost, the Rochester Institute of Technology where she was associate dean, and the University of Hartford Art School where she was dean and from where she retired in 2024.
